hi I'm Craig the barber with the men's room comm and today I'll be talking to you about the proper way to shave a mustache the best way to maintain your mustache is to be focused on two key areas how wide you want your mustache to be and how neat you want you must actually be especially when it comes to where it should be located on your lip line the best guide for determining how wide you want to be is basically not to go past or outside of where your pupils are you create a line and do not go outside that area anywhere inside you can go as short as you want but ideally you want to stay within that guideline next is your lip line your lip line the best and easiest way to maintain a lip line is by using the smile technique next step is to remove the bulk if you want to maintain as much bulk as possible you'd want to go with the grain if you want to remove more bulk then you want to go against the grain after you've established that you couldn't easily use a safety razor or a straight razor to basically outline how your mustache will appear the easiest way to do that is to use a pre-shave gel or pre-shave oil and then proceed with shaving that area and that's it I'm Craig the barber with the men's room calm thanks for watching
