so yeah what we're gonna do is Brian is only brought me in a bathroom cabinet that they no longer they want a new color on it I asked him to bring me in the cabinet and they did so I'm going to show them how to properly prepare the wood for the stain and then we're going to sample a few things on it see which color they like my first step whenever I do any of this to like save lacquer thinner and give it a nice wipe down with lacquer thinner and this helps me sand away it takes away sometimes you can omit sanding just by using lacquer thinner putting it on a clean white t-shirt and I just start wiping wood with it this removes the glass and of course brian has a palm sander home so this thing would already been sanded by now smells good yeah light-headed and dizzy and since I'm going longer this is taking it way down so how long should I continue when I know I'm done with the lack of time low and you're done when you were sure would but it'll keep coming off coming off coming up I'm going to start sanding this right now okay um it's also cleaning it up a little bit okay and I'll set that over there so we're not as fixing anything one another and then I'm going to start CIT working with direction of the would you scale the capture that was that was still that's what the grid on that this is the one I chose a 100 and this is a 100 and then I have a 220 to do my final coat guys to get out any imperfections smooth it out and if you guys are gonna be aware that right I should probably be wearing one to set a good example for her there we go and we are nearly there I know your decision to try this though if you want to want to give it a try no go get will get it home right though so with the 100 I want one check all the color ah yeah the 100 is what's going to take this up the rapid the grit it's going to be like pull it up to 20 what that does case I scratch it anything like that it's gonna be at night on the soccer and then my boxers I'm trying to get this video to first oh well Brian this is all your fault you thank you she just pickin up the other corner no I'm gonna do this quick well it gives this for a boy to sample more colors no we need to with like the cooking shows worth the wit when the other that's already done right yeah what a beautiful thing no I spoke to him two days ago now so I hope when you is good approving a standard we're nearly there nearly there and of course the start you found out they're doing I wouldn't be surprised of the Yellen bagging I haven't and of course if I had a block it would be easier yeah bracket yeah so we'll bring in a picture of the finished product oh yes right take a for and after shot then we'll give it Gary then they can be things no no no in our next workshop you guys you'll be putting on actually this is enjoyable now it isn't something to do no I'm worried we're looking forward to it will be a small enough job where it's not you know overwhelming had to completely be your mark on the bathroom I ask how are you doing today I have a good time always okay are you I'm not smart enough that ready this is Elvis Rock know you have believe it Richard so what can I do for it yes okay amazing pause I'm in the paperwork pause Gary the wood we've removed all of the prior stain and poly coat that was on there now I'm going to take a 220 grit sandpaper just to smooth the whole surface out if you're not working with that created the wood it's moving it's moving it's where the net clean up all the dust here now I'm going to take a little priest a and I'm going to priest in it whenever you work with priest aid you go against the grain of the wood with precinct opposite of that if you're working with stain you'll go with the grain of the way and again just a white t-shirt and I go right so we're gonna pre-stain this going against the grain you need to shake that can appreciate I gave it a little shake prior to you running a video and I'm just going against the grain and what this does this will open up the grains will make the would accept the stain Adam or even great prevent splotches you don't have to pre State hardwoods and since I don't know what type of wood this is better be safe than sorry now if I was weren't in such a hurry I would let the set for a half hour before I applied stain to it but I don't have a half hour to wait so I'm going to go hit it with the hairdryer and then we'll move on to standing okay now and this is oil-based stain I chose a pretty I always want a good brush with it pretty is a top quality and I chose one is for oil based paste and stable so we're going to work with the wood and um Brian wanted the poly shades Bombay mahogany which has a poly coat in it so it's going to require two two to three coats we only have time for one because there's a six hour dry time in between so you still think the brush not the tissue with the Polli yeah okay I'm really liking a little darker but that'll get you just obsessive two to three coats I'm gonna speed it along there because you can reach the end the top huh I'm gonna hit with a hair dryer and a ski with your final coat looks like the stuff is really forgiving so can you over brush something like that I'm sure you could so let's speed things along for TV um if we're going on video I would try it with the teacher can see how it comes out we're in the video
