In this segment, we're going to cover removing
the radiator. We've got all the brackets off of from it, all the hoses disconnected. What
we're going to do now is remove the radiator and remove any accessories that still left
remaining on the radiator. To remove it, it simply just slides straight up. I'll turn
around. Now you can get a better view of what I was doing in there. This is one of the transmission
cooler lines. This is the location of the other one. This is our lower radiator hose
connection. This is our petcock, where we drain it. This is a switch for the fan. Now,
what we need to do before we can discard or set aside this radiator is remove the accessories
that we still may need. We're going to need to remove the cooling switch and we'll do
that with a large crescent wrench. I'm going to get a little better bite on it. It just
unscrews. You just crack it free and just unscrew it by hand. We want to set it aside
because we're going to need to insert that into the new radiator. The other things we
need to look for to see if we need to remove is these rubber bushings. They go for the
upper radiator mounts and the lower radiator mounts. So, we'll pull off the two upper ones
and then we're going to turn it upside down and make sure there isn't any attached to
the bottom. We have two rubber mounts down here too, that clip on. We want to remove
those because we're going to need to insert those onto our new radiator. If you've already
got your radiator, you want to unbox it and compare the two radiators side by side, make
sure everything matches up identically. In this case, we're going to take this radiator
down and turn it in as a core charge. By turning in the old radiator, I get a better price
on the new one. So, at the time that I turn it in, I'll unbox it before I take it home
and compare it right there at the spot to ensure I've got the correct radiator. So please
watch our next segment and we'll cover installing the radiator.
