Please explain how to make hollandaise sauce ~ amy learns to cook

welcome to Amy learns to cook on the show today we're gonna make some hollandaise sauce in our blender now hollandaise sauce is great over eggs benedict over asparagus or even over roasted cauliflower hollandaise is absolutely one of my favorite sauces we're gonna use ours on some eggs benedict so join me as we make a hollandaise sauce so in this little pot I have two sticks of butter that I'm just lightly melting over medium-low heat you want to bring this to a melting point you don't want to boil it you just want to slowly melt it and we're going to be putting it into the hollandaise when it's warm hot warm but not boiling the key for this is you do not want to brown the butter so you want to bring it up to a low melting you can't do this in the microwave but I feel like I have a little bit more control here on the stove so you can make this hollandaise sauce in a regular blender we have a big Vitamix and it's kind of I'm kind of making a smaller recipe so I wanted to use my immersion blender instead of my regular blender because I just feel like there's just not enough material if you want to use it in a big blender go ahead and just double this recipe we're gonna be using an immersion blender and this is a KitchenAid immersion blender it comes with all kinds of different parts it has a whip it has the cutters it has three different kinds of cutters so this is the motor portion of the immersion blender and here is our post so we're gonna go ahead and stick that on there and we're going to be using just a regular cutting blade so we're gonna put that here and what's great about this immersion blender is it comes totally apart so you can install dishwasher safe so it's just a couple parts on here and we're ready to go so we're gonna go ahead and plug this baby in and test it to make sure it works it just has a little button here whoo I think we're ready to rock and roll so what we have here is this is a cup that came with immersion blender this is what we're gonna make it in I have four egg yolks that we're going to go ahead and put in here get quick spoon to get all this out of here and we're going to put two tablespoons of lemon juice and this is fresh-squeezed lemon juice definitely for this fresh-squeezed it right because it's going to be a lot more tastier and we're just gonna really quick give her a whirl so we're gonna put our merging blender this would be the same way is if you use a regular blender I'm just gonna go ahead and do this up a little bit and and we're gonna drop in a little bit of salt you want to salt it to taste so I'm just gonna put maybe an eighth of a teaspoon in here and we're also going to put a little dash of cayenne we're gonna taste it at the end well to make sure we have enough right and we're going to blend this up now we have two sticks of butter over here that we melted earlier it's nice and hot it's not browned and we are going to feed this in here in a steady stream and we are going to be running our mixer and what this is going to do is it's going to create an emotion these things are going to combined and they're gonna get really so key and smooth and delicious right so let me turn my burner off here and we are just going to run this on a steady stream it's delicious it's a nice and creamy okay so we're gonna tap this extra sauce up we don't want to miss any of our sauce here we're gonna unplug the blender and I'm just gonna take this end off here Wow so in here we have our absolutely beautiful hollandaise sauce I mean this is just it's delicious I love hollandaise sauce and this sauce is absolutely gorgeous so let's take a taste mmm it is silky smooth it is absolutely fantastic mm-hmm this is gonna be great on some eggs man today we're gonna be making eggs benedict two different ways so if you're interested the link will be down below in the description if you liked this video please subscribe below and leave me a comment and alike and visit my website at a meal urns to cook calm I'm also on Twitter and Pinterest and Amy learns to cook
