string painting is a technique for painting that use a string instead of a paintbrush you can use this technique to paint organic forms today I'm going to show you how to paint a flower using string this is what you'll need a handful of toothpicks some old brushes a few paper bowls one for each color water iraq by our more sheets of white paper some cotton strings come to toothy pieces one string per color a few bottles of craft paint for this project I'm using acrylic cardinal crimson and shamrock green now I'm going to demonstrate how to paint the flock first you have to coat each string about halfway and paint make sure there aren't any clumps now swirl the string on the paper use the toothpick to direct the string remember once you put the string down we can't move it jump into the sheet of paper on top of the flower and push down on it as hard as you can slowly pull this straight out from between the sheets of paper remove the top sheet now gently place the green string in the form of a leaf on the paper do the same thing you did earlier place the second sheet of paper on top and gently pull the string out let your painting dry before you hang it you are now ready to display your artwork thanks for watching you
