Please explain how to treat a scald burn

a scald burn can happen from either direct contact with water or with steam we see a lot of scald burns and little kids who have pulled a pot down on themselves it gets on their face or down their body sometimes in their diaper and one of the most important things you can do if that happens to your child is to stop the burning by taking off the clothes taking off the diaper and you can cool it immediately with some cool water but after that you just want to get them in especially if they have a burn on their face almost any scald burn on a child if they've pulled something down on themselves we we want to see them at the burn center just to make sure they don't get dehydrated make sure it's not deeper than then you would initially think because children's skin can burn a lot faster and deeper than an adult skin now with the steam burn in your face if you're taking off a radiator cap or and you get something directly in your face you probably need to come to the burn center and have us check it out if you've been burned on your face if it's significant
