so hi i'm dominique welcome to america's test kitchen today i'm going to be showing you how to make a pistachio ice cream using amaretti's natural pistachio butter artisan flavor let's get started our first step is to add our milk and cream to our pan we're going to heat this until a slight foam forms around the edges stir it for just a moment and then we'll take it off of our heat now we're going to take our egg yolks and sugar and whisk them until they're just combined now we're going to take our warmed milk mixture and add that slowly but constantly to our eggs we've returned our mixture back to our saucepan and we're going to stir this over medium heat constantly until it begins to gel a little bit and coats the back of our wooden spoon if small egg lumps begin to form go ahead and pull it immediately off the heat now we're going to add our pistachio flavor because the pistachio artisan flavor is so thick i'm going to stir it really well so that way it incorporates completely into our custard mixture now i'm going to take my mixture and pour it through a fine strainer to make sure i get all the egg lumps out after our mixture has chilled for a few hours overnight we're going to pour it again through a strainer to get the rest of the egg lumps out and follow your ice cream maker's manufacturer's instructions to get it the rest of the way frozen during the last three minutes we're going to add our shaved chocolate i'm going to transfer my ice cream to a container seal it and put it in the freezer until it's firm once your ice cream is ready you can plate it in any kind of container that you like top it with anything you like it's a wonderful summer treat thank you for joining us today at the m ready test kitchen for recipes visit us at amreadyblog.com and if you'd like to see a particular product getting used email us at blog amready.com we'll see you next time
