I'll show you how to neaten up her tail as you can see it looks like a toilet brush great look so I use a smart grooming tail rake I have two I've got a wide tooth one and I find a tooth but I always start with the wider to get the worst of it out and then I can use the finer tooth but I'm using my scissors to trim up the edges so these Tower X are so simple to use you simply pull them over the hair moves the tail to one side pull down the side and as you can see it just pulls the hair out it breaks it off and pulls it out it's like a pain-free way of pulling their tails I don't believe in pulling tails I think it's me nobody pulls my hair out when I go to the hairdresser's so why should we pull theirs out you can really get a much more natural look especially without clipping the sides so you just hold it all through so as you can see just after a minute Hotel is much much neater and now I'm going to use the smaller the finer tooth smart grooming tail rake and I'm going to go a little bit slower and a bit more carefully and I'm going to just focus in on the areas that are still a little bit less neat and tidy by taking the tail away and going to be underneath you can take out some of the thickness as you can see it's already looking much neater I'm just going to use my nice sharp scissors I got from Smith's and I'm just gonna go around the edges just trim a nice neat straight line up the side nothing too short not as close to her not to her dock just so that the tail sits neatly in between her bum cheeks at this point we can get a little bit carried away and you can end up cutting it right to the point that you're clicking against the doc this is not what you want to do so again especially on the wrong side use your left hand over the top it looks a bit backhanded but this is the way that I have found it easiest to mean you're not having to use your wrong hand that is how you get a working line so yeah nothing too much just a little bit at a time this is like with any amount of trimming on your horse do a little bit and then do a little bit more don't just cut the whole lot off and then regret it for six weeks because you see that a lot so you have it nice and simple just with the tail break and then a pair of scissors to trim the edges really nice neat tail
