hey guys it's drew here back to the old 1997 Chevy Tahoe again so check this out see that brake light that's on right there all right so it's winter time we've had a couple cold nights where it's gone to about 20 degrees the truck was sitting for about a month three weeks to a month because I got a newer car anyway so I'm going to show you something so the brake is on right now because I'm working on the car I'll pull the brake pull the brake release pull and the brake is still on so that brake like while you're driving means that there's an issue with your brakes it usually means you're leaking brake fluid so I'm gonna go ahead and add some brake fluid now sometimes this solves the issue sometimes it doesn't sometimes it'll seal off the I know I know I have a problem with my brake cylinders leaking and when you go to the back turn this off so it'll stop beeping the brake cylinders are actually behind your wheel they're really hard to see but that could actually be a Camaro right back here this little thing right there is your cylinder gosh hard to see okay so those sometimes leak I don't really see it right now leaking then it must have did press low but you'll usually see like some some runoff on the wheels on the inside of the wheel line you'll see runoff kind of like oil on your wheels anyway you probably should get it looked into but adding a little bit of brake fluid can also solve this issue so this is where you add your brake fluid right here this little thing here now there's a there's sort of a vacuum too and I actually have a decent amount of brake fluid so this has me a little worried I'm gonna top it off and then there's a little vacuum seal here and reseal that if that doesn't solve the issue I probably will end up taking it to the shop but if you're pushing down on your pedal and you're going straight to the ground that means there's an issue here this is your master cylinder here a lot of break places will try to tell you it's your master cylinder now actually this truck is close to 20 years old it could be a bad master still here I don't know but anyway your first steps gonna be to put some brake fluid in so you can just get you know super tech synthetic brake fluid you can get at Walmart or autozone or wherever I haven't even opened this bottle yet so let's open it I'm just gonna top it off but I don't even know if that's the issue but if the light is on it's for some reason it's doing that so all right but anyway this is synthetic do t3 you can ask it your auto parts store if it'll work now you want to make sure this seal goes back on there's actually a lid to this on top of this see this it comes off but make sure that seals good and like I said this is for the 1987 Chevy Tahoe but can also be on any other model car so when I put this back and seal this down first like that and then put the top on or you can put it in the top whichever works alright guys well hope this helps if your brake light is on it can be a serious issue if your foots going all the way the floor and your brake lights on you definitely need to go check it out unfortunately a lot of mechanics that brake places and tire places will try to play you because brakes are such a safety issue they'll try to put new brake pads on new you know things like that when it could be as simple as a cylinder in the back which is like a 15 or 20 dollar part and maybe one hour of labor but you can always go to an autoparts store and ask those guys to they'll help you out alright guys this is drew I hope this helps somebody out if you're having issues with your brake light being on like I said if your foot is going straight to the floor you need to put some brake fluid in immediately if your brake reservoir is full then just you're not going to want to drive that car because there's something going on and it can be pretty dangerous if you're not getting full stopping ability on your car go ahead and give this video a thumbs up if it helped you out subscribe to my channel and you know thanks for watching guys I really appreciate it have a good one
