this episode is brought to you by zazzle.com custom t-shirts personalized gifts posters and more use our code every drink 11 and save 10 off orders 50 or more welcome to common man cocktails i'm your host derek shulman today we're going to create the neapolitan sunrise this recipe submitted by eugenio has um lemoncello light rum we're using a 10 cane light rum so it's a sugar cane based rum just going to top it with some blue curacao a blue curacao so we're going to use that at the end it's guts let's see what else grenadine and lemon juice we're gonna do two ounces of lemon juice an ounce of light rum an ounce of lemon cello we're gonna use just a half ounce of blue curacao just for the top and the grenadine half ounce nothing intense too much grenadine is too much grenadine all right i'm gonna shake up everything but the blue curacao that was a very intelligent statement right there what too much grenadine is too much grenadine but it is it's it's intellectual you have to think about it as it it's on different levels apparently you're just too common you're just too pleasing must be one ounce of light rum one ounce of limoncello imported from italy i didn't import it but somebody did i'm guessing the liquor store new hampshire probably the importer i'll go with the importer sure that's an intelligent statement the importer imported is there multiple levels of depth on that one no so we've got the limoncello which i think is going to be a little sweet then we're going to bring in two ounces of lemon juice that's a lot of lemon juice a lot super a lot all right ice i'm gonna go super sour that's what i'm thinking heck's the top i'll do a nice color shake it up the heck there you go all right i have a glass and as you can see it's almost football season so we represent the only team worth watching and everybody hates us because all we do is win except for last year we don't we don't really talk about last year is that the year mister brady didn't make it last year oh yeah that's why we're gonna talk about it because it's awful all right so we're going to try and layer this on the top or at least put it wow it's actually sitting on the top that's pretty neat having fun with this are you drinking from the bottom with this there is your neapolitan sunrise it's very crazy looking actually the blue is starting to sink to the bottom and form and push up the rest of the liquid pretty neat that's a neat looking cocktail it almost looks like fire glowing in the middle like it like it sour but you know sour it is sour but i almost i almost want to take another sip that type of sour where it's not like um some sour drinks where you just you had and you're like that was good once it keeps making you come back i think there's a subtle sweetness there's a blue curacao near the bottom a little bit of meat bitterness the light rum does still keep itself intact i think it's because there's the sour you're just like wow that's sour and then boom right inside the face with a little light rum we don't do a lot of sour drinks so it's always nice to get a good balance of something i'm gonna say i'm still gonna go super sour on this drink and it's got a neat presentation which kind of gets diminished as you drink it but you serve it to somebody they're like cool they don't care after that right so there you go the neapolitan sunrise check us out on everyday drinkers.tv we're teaching you how to drink
