[UPBEAT MUSIC] KAREN KAVETT: Hi, everybody. I'm Karen Kavett. So using tree stumps in home
decor is super in right now, but if you don't just have a
tree stump lying around today I'm going to show you
how to make a mock tree stump to do list. Because school year is
ramping up, and I'm sure we could all get a
little more organized. So to make this project,
you'll need beige duct tape, white duct tape, chalkboard
tape, teal duct tape, wood grain tape, scissors, a
craft knife, a chalk marker, and a crafting board. So we're going to begin
with our chalkboard tape, and we're going to make a
sheet of chalkboard tape that's about 7
inches by 8 inches. Now use your craft knife
to cut a rounded rectangle, but you can make this kind
of bumpy, kind of organic. Don't overthink it too much. Just keep it loose. And now just go ahead and
peel up all of the extra tape. Now very carefully
just keep this up from your crafting board and
then set its sticky side up. Just set that
aside for a minute. Now use your beige tape
to make a sheet that's about 8 inches by 9 inches. So now take your
chalkboard shape that you set aside earlier
and just place that right on top of the beige tape. Just go ahead and
smooth it back down. And now we're going to
use our craft knife again to cut an outline around
the chalkboard shape. Again, don't overthink
this too much. Keep it loose and organic. So now we're going to make a
piece of duct tape fabric using the wood grain tape. This should be about
9 inches by 10 inches. And if you don't know
how to make duct tape fabric like this, you can
watch this video right here. So we're just going to peel up
this shape that we just cut out once again from
the crafting board, and just lay that down on your
piece of duct tape fabric. And now grab your scissors, and
one more time cut an outline around the base shape. And just keep this
really loose and organic. So that is our basic
shape finished, but since I'm making
mine into a to do list I printed out a font that
I liked from the computer to use as a stencil. And I traced them on
to some white duct tape and cut out all of my letters. Just peel up your
letters and stick them right on top of your
chalkboard shape. So to make the strap to hang
it up, cut a piece of teal tape that is 14 inches long. And now just keep folding that
little bit over onto itself. And now we're just
going to tape that right on to the back of
our to-do list. So just placed these so they
make a bit of a loop, sort of, like that. And just use a few
pieces of wood grain tape to tape it in place. So now you can
just flip that over and use chalk or a chalk
marker to write your to do list right on the front. So I think that came
out really cute. I cannot wait to hang it
up and stay organized. So be sure to click Subscribe
