I'm keeping it wrong and legal-like Malik and tomorrow cuz I don't believe in the law like him Steven Seagal let the North the police wanna leap in the wall take a bunch of Tylenol and fall asleep and the more I got to know son you'll be receiving the call you're lucky this little punk still breathed in the door at the world this is how I get even at y'all okay so up into this point we've begin a little bit more general a little bit more motivational a little bit long-term bigger picture and I want to give a shout-out to my girl Irie that's how she pronounces our name for tipping me to the fact that I should be getting a little bit more technical again you can check some of my earlier videos to watch how I discuss studio secrets songwriting techniques and you can watch some of my more recent videos for a longer term motivation but today we're going to get technical again and discuss the art of the multi-syllable rhyme now of course the multi-syllable rhyme is just basically in case you don't know it's where you run more than one part of the phrase so rather than just say I'm living in a red house and I saw a mouse you would say I'm living in a red house and I listed a dead mouse or something like that now you can stretch this to multiple where this could be four or five more rhymes in one phrase of course that's why it's multi-syllable not just double syllable but for the general point you just want to think of it as more than one thing rhyming but how do you do this in a song and make it effective and make it relevant well I'll tell you the way I do it and I'm not saying this is perfect I'm not saying it's the best way I'm just saying how I do it now the way I usually do it is I figure the first line of my rap whatever the beat is whatever it is look at the first line let's say it's standing on a balcony then I think of a few multis that would work with that so we like outcome be doubting me bow to me shout for me and I put those aside and I think okay what's this song about now if it's a hard beat hard-charging Street banger then obviously it's about some more gangsta [ __ ] if it's a funner beat it might be about partying it might be about a girl whatever then I use the multis that I've just put it to the side there how come be down me all that stuff and I picked the subject matter and then I bring them back in so that the moment so that the multis work with the subject matter so let's say let's go back to the first line and it's standing on a balcony and I decide it's a party song so it's like standing on a balcony balcony fans raised the hand face out for me see a bad chick she's not doubting me she's about to cheat a bedroom route with me or something but let's say that let's put that aside and let's say that it's a hard-charging Street banger so I might be like standing on a balcony haters haters on other corners doubting me but they girls shout for me they jealous i spout these fries but I'm so cold they about to freeze that I did it at a time whatever it is but you see I can use the same Maltese in the same first line but it just depends on the subject matter or what kind of vibe that B has and you should be able to do this you should be able to just create a library rhymes based on your first line and then work with whatever the subject matter is now don't make the rookie mistake of thinking of all these cool multis and then making a verse about the multis and just saying all this random [ __ ] butter it up they did it up you know balcony bow to me it's about to be but I found to be like when cats do that it sounds cool but it doesn't make sense into a person who's not a hardcore MC they're just gonna be like I mean he nights or whatever he could spit but I don't know what he's talking about and that's the nail in the coffin right there if your fans can't understand what you're talking about you're basically as bad as someone who doesn't know how to rap so don't do that don't let the multis control the verse let the first control the multis and you should always have a library of rhymes single rhymes that you can combine and that's the second thing I want to say combine different schemes of single rhymes to make new motors and give you an example so let's say that I was like yeah give me some words around with coughing you'd be like I will coffin talk and walk and Balkan spark and fall whatever and then what if I was like okay give me some rhymes with store I store more tour forward towards core sword whatever whatever and then I was like okay now make some multis combining those two schemes so you could be like rolling up at the coffee store see a bad chick I'm talking more start walking towards I think that the dog will score etc century Cedric now you built a story with the multis you have the single line of Maltese around coffin or coffee or whatever talking walking then you have the other line and moats are singles which is just tour for school and then you can combine and make a story around that so you should be able to have tons of single lines of lines together and very quickly combine them to make multis walking tours coffee store all to score etc etc so hope you're getting me think of tons of volts have a vote have a bank vault on multis at all times work it into your subject matter not the other way around and practice combining them and the last little quick tip I'll say is don't be afraid to randomly in the middle of the day just play this game so if I'm walking down the street and I'm like tripod a lot of girls on this guy's ride you broke you still wear eyes on I'm lost you start stretching have fun with the stretch whatever it is looking at the sky view I'm high to kick it like Ryu that'll have fun with this and this is how you get to speak the language of the multi this is how you get to write multis in every subject matter because you're practicing what I talked about earlier about letting the multi work with diverse writing the other way around and that's how you build a bigger bolt of lime so when you're freestyling you just bustle thank you and you're welcome I'm drew Morrissey and I just taught you that all right pop this kit rolled up and leaving the ball I hit you when you mount the sink your teeth in the door you won't be able to eat it's not even the more the sleep in the saw it was giving you a visa in the stall I'm cocking this dude's dudes and I'm squeezing a dog at the first burp and the farts Nicholas needs in the car get on to Norfolk you was teasing the door
