so you know how like a lot of youtubers wear sweat pants or pajama pants or no pants when they're filming like I'm being a classic youtuber right now hey guys what's up my name is Lourdes welcome back to my channel so last year around this time I uploaded a video about like how to Matt your pointe shoes how to pancake them and I filmed that video at like 11 o'clock and I horrible quality video horrible lighting I was wearing like a Captain America sweatshirt but the reason I did that video so late at night and with such more of equality was because I was doing it really really quickly and I was matting a bunch of different people's pointe shoes I was like well I'll just make a video and upload it but I didn't really like explain what I was doing and so I guess I decided to do a new one because it's Christmas season again and so I'm working on pointe shoes for our Christmas ballet again like I was in the last time I did that so yeah I just decided to redo that video because it was like so bad and she's comparison anyway these pointe shoes here are my gainer mendon pointe shoes and these are the pointe shoes that i'm going to be showing you how to match in this video and these shoes are a pretty good color they're not super orange so not super pink and they're not like super white so they're like a pretty classic pointe shoe color I just finished doing these pointe shoes for friends you're welcome any and so this is kind of like what pointe shoes look like when they are matted or sold or pancakes whatever you want to call it please how to tell the difference basically it's just like shiny versus not I mean it's really not that big a difference the reason people matte their pointe shoes and the reason that some studios require matted pointe shoes for performances is because the matted pointe shoes match your tights a lot better than shiny pointe shoes do also if everyone in the class or company is pancaking their shoes the same way then the shoes are all gonna look super uniform and they're not going to be like this color in this color and like shiny in the dirt yeah it's just I don't know it helps like a so to start I'm going to use this low tub and I'm pouring calamine lotion into it and this is like the main thing that you're going to need for this if you're pointe shoes are super pink or kind of more on the orange side you're going to dilute this with a little bit of water and if you're pointe shoes are more white then you're going to do maybe do two coats of this vapor pointe shoes are pretty average like mine are then you're just gonna do one normal coat to apply that I just use these makeup lashes I'm almost out but I just look like those gonna roll my sleeves up getting serious here so I got this calamine lotion for like two or three dollars at Rite Aid so you're just gonna take your calamine lotion and you're just going to dump a bunch of it in here I guess start with a little bit because you don't want to waste any of it there you go there's your matting thing next you're going to take your point shoot and you can either fill it with like newspaper or something or just leave it like this I'm just leaving it like this for and I use you newspaper but it just it takes too long like I just put my hand in my shoe and then I just get some of the calamine lotion on my makeup sponge and then I'm just literally going to coat the entire point you except for the sole in the calamine lotion and you're just gonna like put it on like I'm doing like this and um I think it works the best when you go like sideways across it cuz otherwise when you go up and down it just doesn't work as well because it just goes on smoother when you do it like this and this is optional but you can do the binding I think I recommend doing the binding if it's like the same fabric like the satin as the point shoe but if it's like canvas binding then you really don't have to you can do this part if you want to with the calamine lotion but you don't have to and also the combine lotion does get like a little bit chalky and it's kind of a weird texture when it dries and so if you want to still be able to turn really well on you don't want the risk of it being slippery or sticky then just I wouldn't do it because you don't really see that okay guys so these are similar colored shoes to begin with this one is dry calamine and this one's wet calamine so obviously it's going to be like a lot Pinker when it's wet and it will like lighten up when it's dry so like if you're putting it on you're like whoa that's just too pink don't worry it's it's gonna dry and it's gonna be like a lot lighter and yeah another thing well guys that's all that I have for you for this week if you have any comments questions or video suggestions please leave them down below and I'll get back to you as soon as possible have a totally fun fabulous day and I will see you all next week bye
