I'm now going to show you how to make a pop
up teddy bear. So take a piece of cardstock for the base
page. I've cut mine in half. And now you're going to match up the edges
and the corners, crease it along the fold, and set it aside. Next, we're going to take another sheet of
cardstock, and we're going to need two V-folds, that are the same. So really I'm just going to cut, actually,
this piece in half, and cut it in half again, and now we have two V-folds. So I'm going to fold this one, match the edges,
crease it, and unfold that one and do the same for the second one. Now take your base page and roughly mark where
the center is. Because what we're going to do is we're going
to take one V-fold, line up the center lines, and you line it up to that point, right to
the middle of the base page where you marked it. Tape it down. We're going to do the same with the other
pop-up, and line up the V-fold right next to the first one that we taped down, and we're
going to tape the second one down as well. And now we close it we can see that there's
a lot sticking out. So what we're going to do is we're just going
to cut those off. So then that way we know where we can put
the teddy bear. So here's your two pieces and what you're
going to end up doing is you're going to sketch out half the head, and you're going to sketch
out one arm, his second arm, and his little legs, and then you'll cut those out. But I already have a piece with the two V-folds
connected, the head, and a base page. So as you can see, this is one V-fold, this
is the other V-fold, and then the sides of the teddy bear are actually the tabs. So we're going to fold him in half, fold him
back, and fold him forward, along the diagonals. And when we fold this, we're going to push
both V's towards one another as we squish the side tabs inward. Do it gently and slowly, just so you make
sure that it stays all on the same fold lines. So now you can see that we have our teddy
bear. Next, I am going to double stick the head
on. And you can see that this template has made
it easy because we can just line up his ear and part of his head right along that shape. Next, we're going to tape him into the base
page. So flip him over and you're going tape right
inside of that V shape, not the V-fold, but the tabs that have been created. And we're going to tape the other side as
well. And also, when we line him up, we want to
make sure he's lined up with the center and, roughly, the center of the base page as well. So, this center line, base page center line,
all line up. Close it, and that is how we make a pop-up
teddy bear.
