Please explain how to install a rain shower head

hi there my name is Paul with Genesis bathroom creations today we're going to be demonstrating how to install one of our rain shower heads with the adjustable shower arm for this demonstration today I'm going to be using our standard length locking adjustable shower arm and our range showerhead with smart spray technology the process is the same for all of our shower heads and arms first thing you got to do is remove the old shower head most the time you can just unthread them by hand you might need to get it started with a crescent wrench or pair of pliers or something like that once you've got that removed clean off any old teflon tape or debris that might be on the threads once that's all cleaned up you want to verify that inside the opening here there's not a little washer or any debris stuck in it all that looks good go ahead and take the teflon tape the roll of this is provided with any of our shower heads and we're just going to roll it on here we want to get a couple like three or four good wraps all the way around the threads and do this in a clockwise direction once you have a few good wraps on there let's make sure it almost nice and smooth and then you can take the extension arm and the female end just wrench right on now with the extension arm we've included one washer inside the opening that's most the time how you're going to want to use this there is a second washer that we've included in the box you only use that if you need to the reason you might need to is because what you want to do is tighten this until it gets nice and snug you don't want to over tighten it because that can damage either the arm itself or your stem coming out of the wall but you want to be able to get where you have it nice and tight and the arm can move up down and me in the right position for the showerhead if it's off to the side it won't work where the showerhead will line up so you want to make sure that it's in a nice position where it'll go up and down it's snug tight not too tight next take our teflon tape again and do the same thing on this end of the arm wrap it around get a few good wraps on here and then we're ready to install our shower head for the shower head it's also got a washer in there you should never need to double washer it and you just thread it right into place just hand tightening don't use any tools just put your fingers up here and kind of snug it up once you have it tight go ahead and lift it into position and tighten the joint here at the arm this joint has locking gears inside there you can feel those gears knotch and so you just find it the right noxee life and then snug it up with your fingers you don't need to use tools it just kind of lightly snug it this top joint we didn't put locking gears in there so that it's easily to maneuver while you're using the shower if it doesn't hold a lot of weight so it doesn't need the gears into that position alright once that's all in place go ahead and turn it on make sure it works just want to make sure that you don't have any leaks here and that's up one cave looks good everything seems to be looking good that's it that's how you install the rain showerhead with one of our locking extension arms see you next time
