hi this is Debbie with the food prepping Channel and today I'm going to show you a quick way of saving your basil now if you if you're like me you probably love basil and you can get your basil out of your garden like that have a bunch of basil in my garden this year so you can get it out of your garden put it in a cup like this this is one of my sealing cans I could use to put stuff in the freezer and you can put it in your water all the way down your water and then you take a baggie like this and cover this up and this will stay fresh all week long sitting on your sink because you're making like a greenhouse effect with this bag over this and then I can just sit it right there and use it all week long now I've just picked some leaves and washed these leaves and I'm going to freeze these just like this last year I made pesto and it was good but I like the leaves to just put in like with tomatoes or whatever so to do that I've got to I've washed these leaves I'm going to spread them all out on this paper done these paper towels I want them to air dry for 30 minutes and then once these dry and you have to be very careful with basil leaves they're very tender so you want to let these air dry for 30 minutes and then if they're not completely dry take your paper towel and very softly wipe dry them as much as you can and then I'm going to show you what you can do with these to freeze them just like this this is all of it I mean up I'll bring you back and show you exactly what to do after 30 minutes okay I'm back now this has been drying for about 30 minutes and I'm very carefully going to go over these leaves with the paper towel and try to get all of the water off of them and I have this little container that I'm going to use and all you do is gently place them in here and I'm going to put every one of these in here singly just like that layer after layer and I've got plenty more that's going to fill this up and this is going into the freezer so anytime I want to get out some basil all I have to do is open open this and pull out a few leaves and the leaves are going to turn darker but the taste is still going to be the same and you're still going to get that yummy a basil taste whenever you want it and so that's all I'm going to do now is put this in the freezer and if you like this how to save your basil give me a thumbs up subscribe to my channel and you have a wonderful day bye
