now it's time it's time for our trouble getting our Q's here it's always a good day for me if I get to play with clay I'd love to play with clay I'm always thinking of something I knew I can do with clay and I don't like hard stuff I like it easy guess you do too said anywhere you might wonder what I'm doing I'm conditioning a piece of clay because I'm going to show you what I can do with Lisa Pavelka steampunk stamps so that's what we're going to kind of do today is we're going to texture stamp some polymer clay I'm going to show you some stuff that I did this morning some pendants this stuff I made how to put some Gilders paste over top what they look like if you put something like diamond glaze or glossy accents over top that kind of thing we're going to do a few beads together so come on over with me I've got it all laid out and ready to go we're to use this clay and I'm going to show you what I found out okay so here I am with my piece of clay that I was conditioning and I have a little fingernail mark there okay so now I'm going to take my acrylic roller which we sell at the site now because we're expanding our polymer clay pus section are you if you've been doing clay for why you have one already I really do advise getting one of these whether you get it from us or somewhere else it just will make your life a lot easier than trying to use a wood rolling pin out of the kitchen you got to dedicate it to use and your wood rolling pin is going to get full of clay and you can't clean it out too easy so get one of these as you can clean off it anyways I'm going to try and roll this out so it's a little more even get the marks out of it and it's not going to be perfect but you know what so long as you get the point that's all I care about all right you see my little earrings I made out of clay I make these this morning and what did I use to make these impressions I used Lisa Pavelka steampunk texture stamps this is they're kind of cool there this one is the innie and this one is the Audi so these stick out these emboss inward alright I think I'll use the Audi okay so what I'm going to do very simply according to the directions what they want you to do what's the southern possessor let's just take where you want the you know which impressions that you want no no I kind of like this watch movement piece so I just go from there put it over there and you can either do it this way or the other way like roll your clay onto it you could do this maybe we'll do it this way just for the sake oh you can see where you're at a little bit better if you do it this way and you don't want to roll it too much just once over mix back just plenty pull it up and now we have an impression now this is this is the one that is the Audi so you get a softer impression with it but just because let's just mush that up okay you'll see I have great technique I just do what I do it'd be a while before I'd be a bonafide polymer clay teacher let me tell you what people are gasping okay but hey it works whatever works right that's all that matters whatever works so I showed you what looks like with the Audi now let's do the innie I think it was the Audi oh man I can't remember how well we're going to do it again it's going to be what it's going to be how's that so I picked this part so I like that watch miss I love this watch movement part and I'm going to go over it and see I went too hard don't do that just there we go take it off there's instructions with it help yeah this is the the any the any makes an erased emboss surface okay I could have done a better job with it but I've got some things on here that I can use I've got a really good gear I've got this here so what am I going to do with that well let's see maybe I'll do this I've got some little cookie cutters here you can use cookie cutters or you can find them small enough Macon's clay has some really nice ones see that's got a really cute thing not to make a hole that's how I'm gonna have to reach across Rob maybe move back this way so I can grab it if I have this big gold Stanley all and I like this because it makes a really good hole I like a nice neat hole there might be a better implement if there is you want to tell me about it tell me about it we'll karyam but this really makes a pretty neat hole and that's ready to bake okay so when I bake that if you want to move with me Rob I'm going to get stuff that looks like this I did a bunch of brown today here some more red now what I'm going to show you is how I put Gilders paste over them that's what I did to make my earrings which I think I'll stick back in my ears now so I don't lose them because I really like them I think I'm going to wear these a lot but that might make some and sell them at Etsy okay here's a bunch of I already did Gilders paste over these back here are still drying they have Ranger glossy accents on them I really like how this came out and again I use the Lisa Pavelka steampunk stamp and we have it in the polymer clay section at BC boutiques calm they're not real easy to find yet because they've just come out of the marking I think they just came out at the craft and hobby show Association show maybe last summer they're kind of newly but here's another one with Ranger glossy accents and a little bit of glitter really makes a cool charm these just have what would I use Inka gold Gilders paste and I have not sealed them because you know what you don't need to if you just use this and you use it the way I'm going to show you don't need to seal it unless you want to but if you want the glossy finish then you have to do something over I did glossy finish over these these are going to become earrings but I might go back and I might sand that a little bit more pizazz a little rough it okay here is a necklace centerpiece kind of freeform and organic that I embossed with a rubber stamp that is not one of the Lisa Pavelka and then I put Gilders paste on and I have not sealed this with anything yet either but I might okay let's do some together what you're going to start out with is you're going to if you want to back up just a little bit Rob so I can get in here okay and what you're going to do is you're going to start with okay I've got a pieces come out of the oven and it's cooled nice and cool and it's nice pretty smooth the way of like it you could stand a little bit more I've got just a tad bit of paint thinner and you can see I've been using this brush and there is something in it I don't really care right now because I'm just trying to show you this has got a little black in it so I'm going to go over this as you can see the black that I already had in my brush is going on and I'm going to pick up a little bit more now I've got a little bit too much paint thinner on this so I'll just take a wipe some off nope no big deal no big deal but I take and I just get right in there you need the paint thinner on the brush to get the Gilders paste to the right consistency to really do what you want okay some people say well can I do it without yeah but it's kind of hard so it's better if you use it okay now I put the black on because I wanted to show the definition on this but I'm going to end up wiping most of it off okay so now I have some definition but I really really but I really really want to do is get some of that out of it is what I really really want to do is I want to highlight that with the gold like I did on these other pieces so when I get a little bit of the paint thinner on my brush you just wipe it out periodically changing colors or change your brush or whatever but see how that brings that up that's just making that glow and when this dries if you don't want to seal it with anything else guess what you don't have to and when this dries if you don't like it you can sand it off a little bit you know like on the edges say this part here and you wouldn't want to sand off your design but you could see in this off which I probably would but I'm giving you the gist of it that's how it goes okay so let's do one of these brown pieces let's see this is when I did with African bronze isn't that cool so let's do one of these Browns brown pieces with African buns let me get the worst of that out of there okay and now some more of the paint thinner stuff and once again since we're working in tones you know similar tones it doesn't matter if a little bit stuck in your project this makes it more artistic looking okay so let's go I've got in here I've loaded my brush this is kind of an all of the gold isn't that awesome isn't that awesome you guys and I love to get it along the sides and then once again when this dries you really don't have to do anything to it now I might take a little bit of that back just a little bit because I like the brown I wanted to show through but maybe I'll add a little bit of little income bowl just for blue awesome see how much difference start out like that ends up like this I I like the sheen of it but you know you could just do a little I'll do this this heart and I'll just do it in spots I won't do the whole piece and just leave it like that here's another one and I'll just do the ink of gold on this one and I once again how it was supposed to be like this because I'm going to use this for a centerpiece and hanka just in spots okay and I think on this one I don't know what it's going to look like it let's try it together and try and see just a little bit of black maybe to make it deeper now I probably should have done the black first really I'm getting a little bit there but I'll wipe it back a little bit there we go but since it really adds a lot to your stuff ok let's try with black first on this piece and see what have yes see it still gets in the bronzy but it's got the black too so in the made it a really cool color these could be nice pair earrings like the ones that have one couldn't they yeah so you kind of get the gist don't you how this goes let me try this one on here just do some well that's see that there's a little bit of black in the edge of my brush I've got some of the gold in the black hole looks good ok so now what I'm going to do is show you real quick before we run out of time right if you want to move this way with me you might remember the video I did a couple of weeks ago on are making a little beef be drying tray ok I'm going to show you how I do some beads on this with Gilders paste and you can see I just left the wire up if you don't know about this tray go back in my youtubes because the directions are there as you can see I've just used them little hopper from the dollar store and I've strung some wire across it that can fit my beads and the reason I waited to put this on is I wanted to show you start to finish how to put these beads on and how I do this and it's really really quick so we're going to have plenty of time to finish it because it's so fast so she says and I'm going to show you a couple of new Pink's that I got in too but I'm going to do these with guilders okay alright so I've got my brush put a little bit of the paint there on and I'm going to go for a gold over these so I'm going to get my brush in the inca kola not to be careful I don't get the whole thing gold basically they just spin on there and it just gives them a glow it still shows the integrity of the I've used design scamp on these beets when I made them so it still shows you the integrity of the design if you will now what I can do is I can let these sit until the Gilders paste is good and dry and then I can take Diamond glaze or some glossy accents or you know any kind of a fish sculpey satin sculpey glossy we have both of them at the site some kind of a finish you wouldn't have to do it they'll be okay if you did but I I don't know I kind of like a little bit of a satin finish on them it gives them a I don't know really pretty soft look but this Gilders paste brings out that I use a tire trade tread texture stamp on that one and it really brought it on but it's really good but this is how you do it unless I like doing I'm glazing them on this once you spin them and you get a nice even been all your overspend goes down on the bottom of it so you have less mess this one I got a little bit too much I can come but still it's going to work really good a project these are all going to be great when they dry this is how I do them okay now I'm going to set this aside and I'm going to show you some beads that I did with a new product this is Viva precious metal color and I have it in mother-of-pearl gold and silver and there's also a green gold on the website I saw this stuff at CAJ last year and I loved it and there was such a crowd around this product I really couldn't get any ordered and then I found a one of my suppliers started carrying it and I was thrilled to get it and this is what it looks like this is just plain white sculpey that I applied this over this is non-toxic you clean up with water it's made in Germany but isn't this pretty this is this is the gold this is the mother-of-pearl I think I put a little gold over it then this is a man hairs gold over white to make a toggle not pretty these are beads that I put gold over on my rack but this is the vive finish and I'm in love with it it looks just awesome this is it over another toggle this is it over a little feather thing a washer type thing then here's a red one that I did mother of pearl and silver together over so and when this dries it has kind of a gloss to it kind of a shine to it very pretty finished you know snow long no not oh I can't speak you not only get a little bit of color metallic color but you get a tiny bit of glitter and you get a gloss glaze so and these go a long way too so you might want to pick some of these up they don't work / guilders so if you have guilders on them first I did find out the guilders has sort of an oily residue that stays even once it's dry this does not work over guilders so you're going to do either or you'll either do guilders or you'll do the vivaz one or the other but the vive offers you kind of a satin shiny finish to go along with the silver mother pearl gold and green gold wash so you have options there so I hope I've given you some new ideas and some new options I hope you're going to have a good time go try it and let me know how it goes
