Please explain how to install or replace speakers in 2007 cobalt and remove door panels

hey guys how's it going today we're going to be installing some speakers in a cobalt 2007 this is super easy but it can be kind of tedious so you're just going to go to the trunk like so it'll look up you're going to see some connectors up here these are your speaker's connectors you should be able to get them off and see these ones are nice and fun and you can either just cut these out or you know well you just got to get these wires off that's basically it you can also do it from the top afterwards I'm just showing you where they are next thing we're gonna have to do is pop the seeds Ford as you just do this you're sort of pop now then you lean forward and push them both open up from that point we're gonna have to start removing trim panels like this one and we're also gonna have to remove this rubber gasket to the door you can just grab these and separate it like so next thing is this I don't know if I can get this with my fingers we'll see Byam yeah I can put that off to the side you get this out of here like so see how this is just popping up from the side perfect that's exactly what I want so we'll pop that one to the side it looks like this one will pop up from the side as well right here as you can see we might have to take out the bottom seat but I might be able to squeeze it enough let's see oh yeah so this is no pretty much out of the way this is over here we'll move this off over here let's pop this one up too while we're at it eh just lift up see there's two posts throw that out of the way this out of the way do the same to the other side just going to take a look here we might have to pop this one up too shouldn't be too big of a deal I can see there's already the top thing here so you'll see a little flat blade mark right at the bottom of it use that we should be able to flip that forward so we can get this out of the way next so give me a sec I'm going to do the same the other side and get us right so next thing you need is your t10 Torx you're going to go in there again it probably has a 10 ml bolt head on it but all you gonna do is take your t10 pop it inside see if I can give you a good inside shot not really yay and all we do is we back this screw out I'll show you what we do after that you can see there comes yeah I don't know if that's a ten it might be even an eight considering it's only a t10 so it's probably an eight bill again I don't know 100% but I do know that pulled it out put our screw down there and then from here we need to pull this board now tada grab hold towards the center of the car like so now that's out of the way so now this should be kind of loose except for these parts up here you can pull these out however which way you want to do it if you want to pull them out completely just pull it a little bit towards you like so ladies just pull out not really necessary but it's one less thing that'll be in your way then on here the seat belt ones you can pop forwards to you just lift up on them and they slide and same with this one just lift now we might have to remove the headrest actually that's almost a guaranteed we're gonna have to remove the headrest a half inch sorry and all you're going to do is come back here take these bolts all the way up both sides I got some more on that one and then after you loosen them both they just lift out and you're left with that if you're lifting it like so lifting it up you're going to see this little metal tab see that little metal thing at the very back so as you're lifting watch my hand right here kind of you're gonna feel back there where my hand is and you're going to feel that tab and going to push it up with your hand and then with your this hand which is on my camera you're going to pull forward and then this will come up and out of the way hey I got to move because they got to flip it we're pretty much I'm sitting so we can unbolt those speakers from the top once you get that cover up and over you're going to see a bunch of seven mills here you're going to have to take a seven mill driver and loosen them off after you get that seven mill or the seven Mills off I had to use a big flat blade screwdriver like so and squeeze it in here and separate it because there was some glue ish stuff it could all have been from sitting for so long once you get it out you'll see the clip that we were trying to remove I just removed it for now because I'm still seeing how I want to hook up the new speaker and all I did is I moved that now I'm going to probably be cutting this connector off right here and I'm going to put my positive wire to the brown my negative wire to the yellow and then on the other side I think it's blue and green I believe dark blue is your positive and green is your negative the funny thing is is when we go to the front this is how the Chevy car like this works usually but again I've looked up my wiring diagrams to make sure I'm correct dark colors in the back are positive light colors in the front are sorry dark colors in the back are positive dark colors in the front are negative so basically your lighter colors which we'll see when we get up there like tan tan will be your positive and black will be your negative whereas back here brown is your positive but yellow is your negative it's totally funky like that so once you hooked up your Brown to positive on this one and the dark blue to positive that one and then of course green and I believe it's yellow on the negative all you're going to do now is turn on the stereo and listen to your ears make sure they work and then put this all back together now let's get started on the front doors first thing you want to do grab the top pull on this you might have to get your finger in don't pull it all the way because it's actually attached the door right here you could try and get it off the door if you want but I just like to pop the top out right here after you do that see right here there's another one of those little things we're going to need a little flat blade and it's a little door just like in here if you have a rubber you might have a rubber thing in here you might have to plot pry it out mine didn't have one but there's another little trap door right here we're gonna have to get into so just with a flat blade get in there and then flip this up and flip this one out got my flashlight here so I can show you better after you get that trapdoor oh it's that and you have two screws in there so loosen those two screws off and loosen that third screw right there and get them all the way out do you get all three of those out now we go to the side and you're going to see a t pop right here on the door so you just let me see if I can shine some light there see it all you do is you pop out there's two layers to it you pop out the tip now you can do this with a pair of pliers you can also get in there see how there's a flat blade slot let's see if I can back that out see how there's a flat blade spot all you twos get your flat blade up in there pop that forwards and then you can pop these either in two pieces or one piece right out pop those out and then let's see if we can make magic happen first time I might have more difficulty with this one you're just going to try and feed your fingers in here and pull like I've done that and this is all loosey goosey this is good and now this just lifts right off perfect oh and lo and behold this also lifts right out - perfect so now you're just going to disconnect these by squeezing them with your finger voila see I can get all of them with my fingers all right another one right here you might need to squeeze in there with a flat blade let's see if I can do with a finger no so just get in there with a flat blade push on the white piece and then pull out and then I'll take a look at this other clip it's probably just another little simple pull out oh I see right here I think either way I'll get that one out and then we'll get our Dara panel up and out so I'm going to try and do this it's on camera for you let's say we're on the top of the door panel you go down over and you see this is your door handle put your finger like I've got my finger here on the little tab you'll feel it pull back on it once you do up so if you see what I just did if not I'll show you you pull back on it so pull it like this and then you lift up and out once you do that your door panel is free pull your wiring out away and move it at this point throw it off to the side literally and then now you've got some nice speakers right here see right there take that up that's another seven milk gonna hate seven mills by the end of this after you do that these are just hooks should be hooks yes they are hooks so we're just going to undo this speaker flip it forwards and pull it out so this is going to be stuck just like the other one after you get that out put a big flat blade in just from the site up here not down here these are your hooks you want to break them once you break the seal then you pull forward you'll see there's this little piece of metal pull this up it'll be this little gray clip which is countersunk in here I just ripped it out don't need it now we have this up now you can either a bolt your new speaker right in here or be you take your fingers like I've done now see all these plastic pieces you're going to cut these out now what you're going to do is after you cut this out this becomes a speaker ring so you can put that back in there unbolt your speaker onto the plastic ring right here and then again as I said before 10 is going to be your positive up here because that's your brighter color and then gray is going to be your negative so the other side is probably dark green light green light green is obviously the positive there's my new speaker spacer I can put this on here put this on the as you can see it's got the little lip there you sink it in put your one screw in here and bolt your speaker onto here and that is basically all I've got for you today is other than that is just bolt your speaker onto here you can remove this foam if you want it's not a big deal to have it here you leave it here and the speaker will squeeze up against it and create a seal I mean either way so just saw do this on your positive and nay negative or you know put Spade connectors on or if you got pigtails with yours put them on and then connect them into your speaker test them put this stuff back together and you're ready to go I hope this video helped you out press like if it didn't subscribe for more in case you want to see what it looks like when you mount them see nice and clean and you still have access to the back your speaker to mount those wires in so hope you enjoy
