Please explain how to make 2 ply plarn (plastic yarn)

hi and welcome back to good knit kisses I'm Kristin and this is brought to you by all free knitting calm and today I want to talk to you about Lorne Lorne is a plastic yarn that you make yourself out of old bags that you get as a grocery store you just anything that is shaped like a tube and so what we end up doing is taking this bag down and flattening it out cutting off the ends and then we can make it in two different ways make it in a one ply yarn which is this very thin type of yarn or you can make it to ply yarn and this actually has two pies on it well I can show you how to do both and I've made this little bag to hang up here you just hang this up and then you put all your extra little plastic bags for storage in there and hang that up in your pantry or somewhere in your house so I also made use of the handles of the bag and made a really fun funky yarn so when this is woven out crocheted loom knit regular knit it would just have this really fun extra little fuzzy come almost like a fun fur so let's get started and I'll teach you how to make it stay tuned to get started making your fire first you want to take a couple of bags that you have laying around the house plastic bags or trash bags and then smooth them out after you smooth out your bag you want to make sure that you've tucked in the dart so this bag you need to poke your finger in here or smooth it in and then flatten it down on both sides so it's completely flat and smooth then you're going to cut along the edge and remove this extra piece here and then you want to cut along the top edge here and on this particular bag I had to cut the straps off and this extra part here it just wasn't going to work for me I need a nice straight line this part right here is going to be trash and then if you'll save these handles you can actually open them up and cut them lay them out and we will make a different kind of yarn which I'll show you how to make with that one so now what I've done is I've opened up the bag where the darts were and you notice it's a wire bag and this bag now is ready is in a tube shape it's going to be open on both in ready to make the type of yarn that you want after you've finished smoothing out your bag you want to pull these sections out where the darts were make sure it's very flat and smooth and you're going to fold that in half smoothing it out continue folding until you've got a few inches so now that we've got that flat piece what we'll do is we're going to make a two ply yarn so we're going to make loose all we're going to do is simply cut off and it's not as nice on the end here so I'll just make that one extra fat set off and cassette off and continue going taking the whip that you like and whatever material if you've got a sheet or whatever that you had in the tube that's just fine you might want to make them a little bit wider when they're plastic like this one that you could make them thinner if they're out of something like an old t-shirt or denim using life at bills can you get really sick on you so once you've got them all done you will have loop you want to pull all the loops out okay I'm going to take the loose and I'm going to fit them together to make one long yarn so I'm going to take them in hand come to the end of one to make myself a loop stick this through the top push it down pull it out keep holding it keep holding it until it's tight then I'm going to move down can I keep it taut and foot find where the end of it would be keep holding on to it make a little bitty loop grab my next loop pick it on the top of this we're taking it and we're pushing it through at the bottom keep pulling it and if it gently pull on it until it gets there and then pull it tight and now I've got three routes all together and we just continue going on make sure that you're pulling it with one ends and stretching it to here so you know where the end is otherwise it'll get really bulky if you decide that you're going to put together here and then this move will be to loop which will mean you'll have less links on your yarn so be sure and make it tight make a little loop take your new loop push it through full of Jews and bottoms make sure Lucy's together bullet height and there you have your yarn you can just roll it all together in a nice big ball and you can make something like a little stash for your plastic bags that you intend to do that with or go shopping with and reuse so it's just a nice fun idea there's all kinds of things that you can do with it to reuse bags and other materials thanks again I'm Kristin with good knit kisses and my friends with all free knitting com would like to wish you happy crafting bye bye
