it's gina and today i'm going to show you how to do a simple wire armature that you can use for figure sculptures i'm a certified proper pole instructor and this weekend i'm going to be doing a short workshop with a group of young kids so i went ahead and i had several of these made up for them so we're going to be using these tomorrow but i wanted to show you how to make this very simple wire armature all you're going to need is two pieces of wire and these are going to be a little bit shorter they're about 8 to 10 inches in height so what you're going to need are three pieces of wire two pieces are 20 inches in length and the third piece is 17 inches in length i made this one a little bit longer and i'll explain to you why as you see first thing you're going to do let me put this short piece aside you're going to need the two longer pieces of wire and all you're going to do is find the center try to keep them as straight as possible try to find the center and all you're going to do is simply twist until you have about a four inch spine you're simply twisting them together and you just keep twisting until you have about four inches of spine what you end up with basically two arms and two legs kind of looking like this what you do next is just simply bend the top two or whichever two you decide just simply bend them that way and put that to the side just for a second go ahead and grab third piece which is a 17 inch piece and what you're going to do is grab both ends then you're simply going to bend they'll meet and then you're going to just keep going until you formed what looks like a head stop there and then give it about three or four twists and there you have the head mate and what looks like two more arms go ahead and grab the first piece that you did with the first two wires and then all you're simply going to do is take this third piece with the head you're going to place it onto the second one then you're going to take this is remember this is coming from the part that has a head you're going to take that twist that around and it comes down to the waist and you're going to repeat the same thing on the opposite side it simply twists around forms a shoulder and comes down and there you have a simple wire armature now all you've got to do from there on is simply add a piece of tape to the waist to hold that together and you can go ahead and just start building on the form very very simple if you have any questions just simply post them below if you have trouble following this uh this video if you need me to do it again because i know that was kind of quick but um hope you hope that helps in forming just a simple wire armature for your figure sculptures
