Please explain how to make a cheer bow hair bow - theribbonretreat.com

today's tutorial we're going to teach you how to make a cheer bow I've got your basic cheer bow using three inch ribbon here's a turbo using our cheer bell kits and then the popular tick-tock bows I'm going to show you two ways on how to make these cute bows alright so that three inch grosgrain ribbon and the ribbon retreat comm carries tons of different colors which are perfect for cheer bows and I've cut this ribbon to 25 inches so pick your ribbon and then we're going to form an X with the ribbon ends and then top of the ribbon we're going to bring down to that where that X is made right there and then make sure that those ends stay pretty pretty straight or even now take your needle and bring it through the center the middle of the the loops and then we're just going to bring it around and then tighten it a little bit and what this is going to do is it's going to make it so we can form our form our Center the accordion Center and so before you tighten it up and and tie it off you want to make sure that it's even and then if it's even you just go ahead and go around until it doesn't tighten anymore and then take a couple stitches and then we just need to cut the ends into V cuts so we fold it in half do the same thing with this side okay and then just seal the ends with your lighter and that shows you how to make your perfect cheer bow now we're going to add the turbo to a pony oh you can also add them to a clip we're going to do a pony oh right now so take your needle and thread and just bring it into the back of the ribbon and then we're going to take the needle through the middle of the pony oh and then we're going to wrap the thread around a few times and make sure to tighten as you go take a stitch into the pony oh and you can cut that off and now we just need to finish it up by adding the center so this end right here is sealed so I'm just going to put a dab of glue or the where the thread is and then place the ribbon right there on the glue and then we're going to wrap it around so just take some more glue put it on the ribbon in the back and we're going to wrap this around cut off the excess and then make sure to to seal fat end and that finishes our basic to your bow cut your ribbon to about 27 inches and if you're layering your bow with different ribbons then cut all of your ribbons to 27 inches and also cut some stitch witchery to the same length 27 inches and then doing two of them because I've got two ribbons to layer on top of my big my big ribbon now we're going to iron the ribbons together so I place the stitch witchery the strip of it in the center and putting my bigger the one-and-a-half inch ribbon on top so just make sure that it's centered it might not be centered all the way through so as we were iron ironing it we can move it around so it's centered so just following your instructions and go ahead and iron it down and then iron on your third ribbon okay so now we're done with our ribbon we're going to form our basic cheer bow this is pretty much what all the cheer bows are alright so take your ribbon and fold it in half and then from the fold we're going to cut downwards and that makes that v-cut so doing when you're done take your lighter and make sure to still the ends of the ribbon so we don't want them to fray and then do that to the other tail and then we'll attach it to a pony oh so that's done now we're going to add our Center and so we're just doing this blue grosgrain ribbon and that finishes this cheer bow from one of our cheer bow kicks so to make this bow we're going to use our sequin ribbon and this is our new sequin ribbon here at the Rubin retreat calm the sequins are sewn right into the grosgrain and it's really pretty and then we're also going to be using our dazzle grosgrain ribbon and to attach the sequin ribbon to the grosgrain ribbon right here we're going to use the heat and bond and so have all these together and we'll go ahead and get started on this bill cut your grosgrain ribbon to 18 inches and this these ribbons are one-and-a-half inches wide and then cut your sequin ribbon to eight inches and then also cut some heat and bond so that heat and bond needs to be one and a half inches by eight inches to go along with the sequin ribbon so we're going to iron the heat and bond onto the back of the sequin ribbon now we take off the paper backing of the heat and bond take your grosgrain ribbon crease the middle so you can tell which side is 1/2 or where the 1/2 point is and then take your grosgrain ribbon or your sequin ribbon and we're going to iron it on okay and then you're done one that's secure so now we have the sequins on our grosgrain ribbon we're going to form our bow and so using this as a guide we want that to kind of be our Center and this does not have a be our exact center because we have a little bit of give to play with the the center of there so fold over your ribbon like this so the back looks and then bring the other side of the grosgrain over and so we want it to be even these loops need to be even and so that's how I'm going to have it be as you can see you've got this super cute tick-tock look of the the sequin ribbon in the bezel grosgrain ribbon so now we're going to make our V cuts in the end of the ribbon okay and our bow is finished and now we just need to attach it to a clip and I'm going to show you how to do to attach it to a French barrette so take your bow and turn it over and then take your French barrette and line the top of it with glue and place it in the center there and open that up and then take your 3/8 of an inch ribbon and just using the same dazzle grosgrain place hot glue in the middle of that clip and take the sealed end of your 3/8 of an inch ribbon and glue that down and then we're just going to go around so place some hot glue on the back again and pull this around and secure on that secure just cut off the excess of this ribbon take your lighter and seal the ends and then we'll just put this back in that finishes another one of our awesome cheer bows cut two pieces of ribbon this is our new sequin ribbon so cut them to 9 inches long and make sure to seal your ends now we're going to we're going to sell these two ribbons together we're going to barely overlap them this is a fun way to make the two colored bows cheer bows so I'll have your needle and thread ready and take your ribbon and we're going to bring the two ends together just make sure that they're even over the back and that is another simple way to do a two-tone color cheer bow you
