Please explain how to tumble jewellery

when we make jewelry by hand especially whether it is a necklace like this which is chainmail in stones and in this case it is made out of our gentium sterling silver or we have wire wrapped pieces that we have taken the stone and wrap the cage around the stones in order to make it into a pendant these can be made out of our gentium wire they can be done of sterling silver or even copper wire and these to polish them they can all be done using a barrel tumbler very temblor that we use is made by lower tone it's a little 3 pound tumbler that seems to be very successful in Polish so in order to polish the jewellery with the tumbler we have to go through a few little steps so let's first take the lid in order to do that we'll just open it up we open this by breaking the seal around the edge and pulling this off and their cat tumbler barrel now to make it work we take this and we use stainless steel shot and this is a mixture of different shapes and stock sizes that are put together so that it will polish all kinds of different shapes and so on so we have a 2 pound container that we put into a 3 pound barrel which is more than sufficient amount of steel shot for the three pound tumbler now once we have the steel shot in there we can add water and the water simply just covers to the top of the steel shot now into that we also add burnishing soap not dove or any of the others this is a specialized soap that it's made for exactly this for using what steel shot to polish virtually anything so this point we put in level teaspoon level teaspoon of the burnishing so that's all it's required at this point then we can put in one or two pieces of our jewelry into it when you're starting I would suggest one piece would be all that you would really require it will handle more than one after you sort of get a little bit of practice on doing it natella like this I could likely produce we need is two three maybe even four pieces beyond that you're going to run the risk of damaging the pieces to see me start to hit together and you don't want that so taking that one piece that I have in there at the moment I can put the lid back on it and make sure still tight down the whole barrel there we go and put the washer on and a little not really hear it up till it's snug at this point then we put it on a tumbler and turn it on it can run well the first half hour will pretty well polish it but to get the best result you should let it run for a minimum of two hours the reason being that are also surface hardness the wire so that it'll make it a little bit stronger and help help up with the polishing and make sure that you get the best results then when you finish the hour hopefully two hours you can take the piece out and then simply all you have to do is wash the piece off now we have your stainless steel shot and for a very good reason that the shot itself will not rust so you don't have to protect it from that until we polish wipe the piece off dry it and you should have a very fine polished piece then you simply dump the soap and water down the drain better still don't outside normally you can get more than one run with that teaspoon of finishing soap I would suggest that you could run it again maybe two or three times and if it starts to get a little discolored and blackish then it is time to dump it out wash the steel shut off now when you finish the tumbler and you finish the operation dump out the soapy water take the steel shot well dump it into a colander or seven some sort wash it off and then you can pour it back into the barrel if you want to store it that way or just put it into a jar put a lid on and set it aside until you are going to use it again now you can use this process for sterling or for copper or argenteum silver basically for just about any wire that you can come up with they one drawback fact that you have to watch is the fact that certain stones that are soft such as turquoise or malachite as your eighth and then some other soft stones cannot be tumbled in there because it will likely affect the polish therefore what you do is you still make the piece with the stone get it all finished now at this point you open it up just enough so that you can get the stone out tumble polish the piece and then afterwards your them take it we put the stone back in and finish adjusting the wire so if you have a finished piece so in that way it's a simple process but it gives you amazing results you
