Please explain how to make halloween jack-o'-lantern cake pops

cake pops are all the rage in baking and they've been popping up everywhere this fascinating little treat can be made to resemble any design theme or holiday from parties to weddings they're portable cuter than a cupcake and I'm excited to show you how to make a jack-o-lantern cake pop here's what you'll need using any flavored cake you want I'm using yellow cake it's my favorite you're gonna cut it into four pieces and simply rub them together creating fine crumbles and if you have some of those overcooked brown pieces go ahead and take them out and one box of cake mix should actually render about 36 cake pops now you can add the frosting start with a couple tablespoons because depending on how moist your cake will depend on how much frosting you actually need I like to start with a fork and then use my hands or else it's gonna get really messy so you really want to keep incorporating the frosting into the cake crumbs until it starts to keep its shape and it kind of resembles play-doh all right so it looks like it's just about there so grab your cookie sheet with wax paper and get about a tablespoon and a half worth I've done this before so I can kind of eyeball it but if this is your first time use a measuring spoon or even a melon scooper or a coffee scooper great so see how it's keeping its shape so soft and this is really going to make a great cake pop and then just line your cookie sheet so now your cake balls need to firm up you can store them in the fridge for a couple hours or you can speed up the process and put them in the freezer for 15 minutes while your cake balls are firming up you're gonna want to melt your candy melts and you want to make sure it has a nice ribbon light consistency and if your chocolates having a hard time melting just add a couple teaspoons of shortening that should help it out so next you're gonna grab your lollipop stick I found these at my local craft store and dip it into the melted chocolate just about half an inch deep then grab your cake ball and put it into the bottom about half way through this is going to help the cake prop from sliding when I dip the whole thing in you can also use a styrofoam board if you like to help these stand up straight so then you're gonna put these back in the fridge or freezer so that they firm up a bit so they don't slide down when you dip the entire ball so now that these cake balls have firmed up you're ready to dip the entire cake pop take the cake pop via the stick and dip it into the candy melts and twist as you're doing so and our jack-o'-lantern needs a stem right so I'm going to use a green tic-tac so before I can paint his face on I'm gonna have to let him dry one more time now you can leave these on the counter to firm up or to speed up the process you can throw them back in the fridge I can't wait someone do that so now here's the fun part this is when you get to draw on the Jackal interfaces you can be as creative as you want so I'm just gonna use a paintbrush and black gel coloring but you can also use a food writer which is the edible marker alright and there is a jack-o'-lantern pumpkin cake pop not bad right now it's all about the taste test hmm look at that I love the snap of the chocolate candy melt and then the dense moist cake I love cake pops they're so fun to make you can make them fun or sophisticated depending on how you decorate them thanks so much for watching I'm brandy and I'll see you next time for another taste of young sugar TV
