Please explain how to make a cheap stop motion armature with super sculpey-part1 |tutorial| clay_gladiator

Welcome to my stop motion armature tutorial PART1! I will show you in a tutorial series how to build a stop motion puppet. Enjoy watching!!! Before we start with the puppet ... lets prepair the material we need. We need some wire. Its a cheap wire from the home improvements market. You don't need a very expensive one. A pair of pliers! (mandatory equipment) Super Sculpey-a polymer clay wich hardens when you bake it (needed at PART 2 of the tutorial) ....and a template for the proprotions of your puppet. All the material is low cost - so you don't need very expensive materials to start with an armature! All about 20€ which is more or less about 22 Dollar. If you like my tutorial please subscribe to my channel and like this video!!! :) Lets start with the wire body of the puppet. At the start you need your template. Now you take a straight piece of wire. Take a striaght one not the direct beginning which is already coiled! Now you have a straight piece you can beginne to measure.... Measure the lenght of the upper body to determine the length of the wire you need. Bend it up and cut it with the pair of pliers. Pay attention that you don't hurt yourself!!! Now you twist it together (not to tight you will see at the end of the tutorial ..why) First piece of the puppet is in progress ;) ...twist it not to tight... The proportions are right...as you can see on the template. Now you bend the wire for the pass point of the legs. Now you measure on your template the length of the leg. Take enough wire for the leg. ...also double the wire... Now we twist the wire tight but leave at the end some sort of loop where we can attach the feets later on. ....as you can see the loop... ...pay attention at this point ....not to hurt yourself with the wire... Later on we need that loop to form proper feets for the puppet. Now I form the loop to the attach point for the feet. ...connect the upper body with the leg... ...twist it together...(its the hardest part of the armature) Take your time to adjust und connect everything properly. Use your tools ...not only the hands like me ;) I use cheap plant wire... First part of the stop motion puppet is done. You can form the upper body and leg with your template in the right position. The proportions are right....the template is a very usefull help. (you also can draw such a template) So... now the next leg! All the steps are the same so I will fast-forward it. If you like my tutorial..please leave me a comment....or like it!!! :) The second leg is now connected with the upper body. Its not stable at all so we have to reinforce it with some wire. Take an additional piece of wire to reinforce it on your stop motion armature. You coil it in an x-shaped form around the connection point of the legs. In the second part of the tutorial we will support this area with some clay. Pay attention that your feets are all in the same direction. Adjust the legs and bring all in shape with your template. Now we start with the arms of your stop motion puppet. Do the measurements with your template it is a very helpfull tool to keep all proportions symetrical. Now we take the length of the wire in three layers. I will speed things up a little bit.... ...as you can see three layers of wire for the arms.... ....twist them really thight.... If you like my tutorial subscribe to my channel for more helpfull and entertaining videos! :) Now we adjust the arms to the upper body . Now you insert the arm wire in the (not so tightly twisted) upper body. You can bend the shoulders with your template for a better orientation and to keep everything in line. if the arms are in the right place ....then you can twist the wire of the upper body firm and tight. Adjust it until its in the right proportion. ...a little bit faster... Then we fixate the arm wire with the same technique from the legs and an additional piece of wire. Coil it around the shoulders of your puppet. Now the figure is ready for the next steps of the tutorial. The main wire body is finished. I hope you enjoyed the first part of the tutorial of "how to make a cheap stop motion armature".... ...see you at part 2 of the tutorial... ...bye bye :)
