hey my name is steven soria with make smith leather company in santa barbara california today i'm going to show you how to braid a leather necklace so the first step is to take the strands and tie a knot on the end so the strands are fixed the second step will be to take the knot and place it into a clamp that's actually going to be really solid you're going to be pulling on these braids on these strands to braid it so you want to make sure that it's fixed to the table in front of you once you have the braid secure you can begin the three strand braid what you're going to do is take the left strand and pass it under the center and always straighten each of the strands keep it from getting too cluttered and tangled up and then you're going to take the right strand and pass it under the new center like so again straightening the strands so you're going to continue this three strand braid all the way to the end of your necklace and you want to make sure that you keep the strands nice and tight so that the braids look uniform when you get to the end of the strand you're going to want to hold the knots hold the braids together in your hand take it out of the clamp and just knot it on the end so that your braids do not loosen up and you have a completed necklace my name is steven soria i'm with mick smith leather company check us out at makesmith.com catch you next time
