hi guys I'm Hannah Cameron this is why I brought you here I wanted to show you how to put a newborn into a movie or stretchy wrap using what mobi refers to as the hug hold or what most people refer to as pocket wrap cross carry it's very similar to the other Moby Wrap tutorial I did which I will link down below along with all my baby wearing playlists but the difference is that passes that makes the ex go inside this cross pass and even kind of pre tie it one of the things that's nice about it is that's pre tied one of the reasons I personally don't like it as I find it's easier to do the tightening when you're doing it with um the other version which is front wrap cross carry Korra's mobi refers to it the kangaroo holds okay so we're gonna go ahead and start off by finding the middle of your wrap um this is not an actual Moby Wrap this is actually a do-it-yourself Moby Wrap so instead of having a little tag for the middle marker it has a seam but it's the same basic idea if you guys want to know how to make this yourself um it's literally just five yards of jersey fabric cut you don't even actually need to sew it anyways so what we're gonna do is we're going to go ahead and put the middle marker as high up on our chest as possible this carry is a little bit trickier than the other one I think because you have to kind of pre tie it so then what we're gonna do is we're going to pass the long ends behind us over our shoulders just like we did in the other carry so you're passing them and making an X on your back you want to make sure that it's um flat so get kind of the top section or it's called the top rail and I can kind of use my elbow to help it get up over my shoulder make sure it stays flat and then what we did in the other carry is we put baby in at this point but we're actually not gonna do that we're going to drop these through the center of the wrap so this is what Moby calls their hug holes and what most places call pocket wrap cross carry you can do this for the woven wrap or a stretchy wrap if you do it with a stretchy wrap you just have to make sure that you always have three passes so what I did is I dropped both those down and then we're going to cross them across each other again trying to keep everything flat then I'm gonna cross behind and you could tie back here but I've got a whole bunch of extra fabric so I'm going to tie in a knot in front so this is pre tied and as you can see I did actually quite tight then I'm gonna take my baby and go ahead and put her in thanks good in the carrier so what you actually want to do is get her legs into a nice cross passes so I do it on the underside first and I'm kind of spreading it across so it goes from her knee to the other side of her shoulder and we're gonna go ahead and drop her through the other side and again thank you for spitting up on me baby from her knees to the other side of her shoulder and then we're gonna bring the centerpiece up you can see this is why I don't like this one I've got quite a bit of slack here and a little bit of slack in the sides here so we're still gonna tighten and it's a little trickier I'm gonna go back in and gonna untie fussy right now she wants to eat untie so that we can tighten and again it's gonna be this kind of this bottom section we'll tighten that shoulder right there and same thing right here cuz that's where the slack and I'm gonna kind of push up on my knees just to make it a little more comfortable right there for her she wants to nurse hide on the head nurse and miscarry because she's super fussy right now so you're gonna do it kind of the same way you did it in the other carry which is to kind of loosen things out drop baby down and then go to the side that you want to nurse on there's something to say and then from here you can go back and retighten so again I crossed behind and just tied in the front and then when you're done just make sure that you move them back up which I'll show you how to do it's very very similar to the front wrap cross carry but as you can see that tightening is just a little bit trickier because you do it all before baby gets on so I prefer the front wrap cross carry or what Mobe calls the kangaroo hold so I will link that video wherever the AI is I think it's over there she is done nursing and those unlatched so we're gonna go ahead and move her back up because you don't want babies to be this low you want them to be close enough to kiss when they're not nursing so I'm just gonna read hook my bra back on and then same thing I've been doing with all these other carriers I'm gonna lift up on her but as I kind of reach high so I'm loosing it in the back we're gonna bring her back Center and up and then now we've got all this slack like I was saying and just like we did in the front wrap cross carry we're gonna tighten that so this is going to correspond with the top section of this route and this is going to correspond on this side so do a little bit of piece by piece or strand by strand tightening so the key to the tightening again is going to be going feeding the slack through and pulling on each section of those cross passes and then again so I brought it around behind and I'm just tying in front if you don't have this much slack this one's really long because it's a do-it-yourself one so if you don't have this much you can tie in a knot behind as well and then you've got kind of a lot of slack here I'm just gonna cheat it and kind of fold it down like that so I kind of pulled on this side here just to make sure that there's no wrap kind of up against her face which again is a way to kind of tighten it to if it's not quite tight enough and Irene as you can see is happy and asleep I can put two fingers under her chin she's close enough to kiss without having to bend down and her back is in this kind of species and her knees are kind of making em with her butt so that's a nice ergonomic position and that's how you put a
