Please explain how to make homemade fabric softener

and welcome to my quick tutorial on how to make homemade fabric softener i use this for dryer sheets as well and i've saved probably about a hundred dollars this year what you need is a 16 ounce bottle of your favorite conditioner not shampoo conditioner um be the cheapy stuff or you know whatever your favorite is a whisk six cups of hot water i only have five here because i'll use my last cup and put it in the empty bottle of conditioner and kind of shake it up to get the last little bits out three cups of white vinegar and a place to remove your hot pot to this is my trivet painted by my grandmother so what you're gonna do is you're gonna take your hot water and your conditioner and combine them into a pot so now that you have your conditioner and your hot water in the pot you're just going to turn your burner on now i'd say probably a medium and take your whisk and just whisk it all together to break up the conditioner mine's a little foamy on the top because of shaking the bottle with the the water in it that will go away once you let it settle so now all you're going to do is just let it i want to say cook but let it get warm until the conditioner dissolves in the water i liked making my own fabric softener not just because of the cost savings but then you can control the smell you can buy something as fragrance free or as light or as heavy as you choose so we found this v05 i think it's pomegranate something or another that smells nice when you're doing the laundry but you don't have that soapy laundry smell on your clothes all day long so now that your conditioner's dissolved you're going to add three cups of white vinegar let's see if i can do this without spewing it all over my stove and you're just going to mix that as well like i said mine's a little soapy just from shaking the um the conditioner so you mix that up and now it's done i'll remove it to my hot plate and let it cool when it's all cool i'll take a funnel and i use an old just gallon water jug and i put it in there i use it just like i do regular fabric softener i save to the top off of a bottle and i use the same thing to measure i've also put some in a spray bottle that i got at the dollar store and i cut up an old t-shirt of my husband's and um i use that as my dryer sheets as well spritz a little bit on the pieces of t-shirt throw it in with your wash um or you know your stuff ready to dry and there you go i'm not throwing dryer sheets out every time i do a load of laundry and there's known of that residue that you get from the dryer sheets so the vinegar helps take out some of the smells out of things like your towels um if you have a bathroom that doesn't get good circulation like mine does so i hope this helps you uh save some money and it doesn't take very long the whole process takes maybe 10 minutes from start to finish with measuring and heating and everything else so if you have any questions leave me a comment thank you
