hey guys welcome to gluten-free habit today we're going to make gluten-free shredded chicken tacos so the great thing about chicken tacos is that they're naturally gluten-free assuming that you're not using a seasoning packet that contains gluten the only other thing you need to change is your tortilla just don't use a regular flour tortilla so because of that chicken tacos are a great thing to add into your rotation for your gluten-free meals so here are the ingredients you'll need tomato sauce mild diced green chiles minced garlic hot diced jalapenos salt cumin some sugar chili powder boneless skinless chicken breast some cilantro finely chopped and a white onion diced small and of course you're going to need some tortillas you can either get the corn tortillas or some gluten-free flour tortillas the exact measurements for this recipe can be found right down below in the description box okay let's get started place your chicken pieces in a saute pan and pour in just enough water to cover them bring this to a boil then reduce the heat to a simmer cover the pan and let that cook for about 15 to 20 minutes or until your chicken is fully cooked once the chicken is fully cooked you can transfer it to a baking dish and then shred the chicken with two forks you can shred the chicken into large or small pizzas whatever you prefer either way it'll be really quick and easy to shred now set that aside while we make our sauce in a saute pan over medium heat cook the onion in a little bit of oil when the onion is translucent you can go ahead and add the garlic and stir it around for a minute or so being careful not to burn it now add your tomato sauce your mild chiles and jalapenos sugar salt chili powder and cumin give that a good stir and bring it to a simmer now add in your shredded chicken stir the chicken in and let that simmer for about five minutes or so just to get the flavors all blending together lastly add the cilantro give it a good stir and you're ready to serve I really love cilantro in the flavor that it adds to these tacos but I know some people don't so if you really don't go ahead and leave it out spoon some of the chicken mixture into a gluten-free tortilla and top with your favorite toppings today I'm using shredded cheese lettuce and salsa I've eaten plenty of chicken tacos in my day and I have to say by far this is my favorite it seems to be the right combination of flavor and heat my family really likes these too so I make a double batch and freeze half I hope you get a chance to try this recipe don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss the next gluten free how that video and if you feel like it leave me a comment down below and let me know what you thought about the recipe thanks for watching I'll see you next time
