welcome back to cover that roof okay so we're in Torrance California we're doing a small repair we're going to replace all the hip and ridge caps over the roof they're pretty damaged so as you can see we're going to be replacing these caps all over the roof and they're pretty damaged now you can see the shingle for the asphalt shingles a little bit different than the color of the cap so it's not going to match perfectly on the color but we're going to do the best we can to find the best match so basically all we want to do is we want to start tearing off turn off the ridge pieces so you just want to start flipping these things off these ones start ripping these off okay so that's a general gist we just want to tear off all the ridge counts come back with piece of paper put it over the top that's about it so it's going to be a pretty easy repair so let's get back to this when we get all the ridge flipped off we'll get a video of it but let's check out and see what the rest of the ridge looks like so we got this little triangle rift square which looks pretty cool so we got to flip off all this stuff there anything's gonna work out pretty great okay so let's get back when this is all ripped off and we'll check it out then welcome back to come down roof okay so now that we've got all the ridge tore off we have a little five inch strip of base paper that we put across the ridge lines and all the hips and stuff so let's take a look at that so you can see the strip of paper on all the lines on the hips right here we got the little strip so this is how you want to do it you want to tear off the ridgelines put the nail back in the nail hole and put a little strip of paper on the ridgeline so that's what we've done so now we're going to start putting on the ridge so we're going to jump the something else and let's see what that looks like when you get it going hey welcome back to hell that route okay so we got most of the ridge on now we just want to put on these loss get him on my fist so that's about it it's pretty easy pieces all we're coming to the center so we're going to want to put a piece piece in the center to get it all down let's take a look at the rest of the roof okay so you got these pieces on right here pieces right here but right here so that's about it pretty easy to put on the ridge so until next time we'll see you again uncover that Ruth
