brought to you by 1auto.com your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet hi i'm don from 1a auto i hope this how-to video helps you out and the next time you need a part for your vehicle think of 1auto.com thanks in this video we're going to show you how to service tail light on this 2000 uh chevy cavalier uh same for a 2000 2002 pretty easy process where we'll take you you'll see everything you need if you're just looking to change a bulb as well as when you see the whole process if you want to change your real rear taillight if it's broken or damaged in some way if you're just looking to change a bulb you don't need any tools if you're changing a broken tail light assembly then you'll need either a 10 millimeter wrench or a 10 millimeter socket with a ratchet open your trunk and if you have a cargo net remove it from the little nut there and twist that counter clockwise and remove it then you can pull your insulation down out of the way if you're just looking to change a bulb or if you're going to change the light the tail light bulb simply turns a little bit counterclockwise comes out the bulb pulls straight out and pulls pushes back in to change the entire tail light there are three 10 millimeter nuts best tool to use is a socket and ratchet as you see here but a wrench would work as well and then just pull the tail light out from the body if you want to disconnect the socket there's just a little tab push down and pull okay new tail light from one auto is on the bottom you can see it's exactly the same as the original and put the taillight in place you can put the bulb in there at first or you can wait till afterwards but get in place get the studs through correctly and then start on the 10 millimeter nuts and we'll speed up here as we put those nuts on and then tighten them up you don't want to over tighten them you want to just tighten them nice and firm and now make sure that your bulb and socket are in place and nice and secure and then put your insulation back in place tuck the top right up under and then put that retaining bolt in that holds your net if you have it and put the net back in place we hope this helps you out brought to you by www.oneauto.com your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet please feel free to call us toll-free 888-844-3393
