Please explain how to crochet a sleepy doll, toys, plushies, softies, kids toy, free crochet pattern

this is Emma today I'm going to show you how you can crochet these cute little dolls so let's get started to crochet this baby doll I'm going to work with a six point five millimeter crochet hook and two strands of Osterley iron if you want to use one strand and a four point five millimeter crochet hook then you'll make a smaller doll so I'm going to start at the bottom and I'm going to chain 5 1 2 3 4 5 slip stitch to join and form a ring carrying the yarn and along the outside of the ring chain 1 and make 8 single crochet in the ring 1 to 8 single crochet in the ring at the end of the row slip stitch to join now you can pull that yarn end and close the center chain one and turn single crochet in the next stitch two single crochet 1 2 all the way around so 2 single crochet one two one single crochet two single crochet one two one single crochet and do that all the way around okay worked all the way around at the end of the row slip stitch to join in the top of the first single crochet now you can make these wider if you like you could make a fatter doll by repeating this row but I'm just going to make a tall narrow doll today so I'm going to chain one and turn then I'm going to single crochet in each stitch across the row and at the end of the row I'm going to slip stitch to join and then I'm just going to repeat that row until the doll is as tall as I would like it to be so I'm going to go ahead off-camera and do that and then I'll come back and show you okay I have worked a total of 10 and so that's going to be the body of my doll so I'm going to change to this ivory color I'm just going to pull it through that last stitch that I worked and I'm going to make one chain and I'm going to go ahead and single crochet in each stitch across the row and I'm going to do four rows for the face and head okay I worked full rows in this color and I pass it off I'm going to leave a long end for sewing a hat on top of the head I'm going to start with chain 16 16 slip stitch to join chain 1 single crochet in each stitch across the row so one single crochet worked in each stitch all the way across the row ok I worked all the way across and I slip stitch to join chain one and turn single crochet in each stitch across the row and I'm going to repeat that one for two more times so I'll have a total of four rows ok I've worked a total of four rows and I'm going to start decreasing for the top of the hat so I'm going to start working in a spiral I'm going to single crochet in two stitches one two and then I'm going to do a single crochet decrease going to insert my hook through that stitch come back out through that stitch and make a single crochet so I'm going to do that every third stitch so one two and a decrease and continue that all the way around so single crochet single crochet single crochet decrease I'm going to go all the way around I'm going to continue working in a spiral until I'm reduced to the for the top of the hat okay I've gone ahead and done that it only took about three rounds to reduce my hat down to a peak and I'm going to fasten off okay both the body the head and the hat finish and I have stuffed it with cotton balls I stuffed both the body and the hat so I'm going to just tuck that yarn end inside and I threaded one of the yarn ends enjoy your needle I'm just going to tuck the other one inside the Hat and I'm just going to place this on the head in the back I'm going to bring it all the way down to the pink but I'm going to leave some part of the front showing for the head so here's my yarn end and I'm just going to sew that hat on all the way around and I'm just going to take this yarn and and I'm going to go through this row of stitches right at the bottom of the head like that come all the way back to the center back and then take a few stitches to secure that I'm going to work the arms flat because it's easier than trying to work it around when you're doing something small so I've changed six and I'm going to single crochet in the second stitch from the hook and H stitch across the chain and I'm going to repeat that row until the arms are long enough so I'm going to go ahead and show you that chain one and turn single crochet I'm going to go ahead off-camera and I'm going to work the arms and then I'll come back and show you okay that's going to work to section for the arms you can just check and see how that's coming along for the length that you would like to have so I'm going to go ahead and make another arm like separated these two strands and so I have one left there for sewing on the arm onto the body so now I'm going to take the Strand and I'm going to sew this arm all the way down to form a tube and stopping the arms is optional I'm not going to stuff mine so I'm just going to bring this arm right up here at the neck and I'm going to sew it on to the dolls body like that now I'm going to go ahead and sew the other arm on here okay both arms sewn on and I'm going to take some dark yarn I'm going to come in from the back and I'm just going to come across to the front and bring that pull that yarn until it disappears and then I'm just going to make a straight line because it's a sleepy doll and I'm going to do three or four stitches and then I'm going to come across to the other side like that I'm going to do the same number of stitches over here and then I'm going to come right through to the back and just going to take a couple of little stitches here the ribbon is going to hide that and then drop my yarn like that and I'm just going to tie a ribbon around the neck and to have the bowl remain permanent like for a young child so they can't take it off just take the two loops and tie them into it one more knot trim these ends like that and there you go that's how easy it is to make this cute little doll thanks for watching bye for now you
