QR codes seem to be everywhere these days and they're a great way to draw attention to our work to our websites in this tutorial we're going to look at how to make a QR crappy tea stencil the first thing that we're going to need for this project is this chicken wire now you want the chicken wire that's got square holes in it like this one you don't want the hexagonal folds the square holes are perfect for making our QR code the next thing we're going to need is masking tape masking tape is the kind of tape which looks like paper I could only find the very thin rolls of it but it's better if you can find the reef at rolls so if you can find a roll that's very thick that would be ideal also we're going to need a can of black spray paint a craft knife and a marker pen it could be any color that doesn't matter too much but the most important thing that we need to do first of all is download a QR code this is the QR code that's going to be linking to my website this QR code you can see is about 21 units by 21 units on each side so you need to make sure that your chicken wire has enough holes to have about to have as many squares as you need also don't forget that you're going to need space at the sides so this is probably going to be two or three holes as well otherwise the QR won't work so let's get to it the first step is to lay out the chicken wire nice and flat [Applause] now that it's all taped down nice and flat what we want to do is Mark out in the area about 25 squares by 25 squares now that's about the standard size for a QR code you might want to make it a little bit bigger say 26 or 27 so that you have something to hold on to so I'm going to make it about 26 squares all right we've got our area marked out now now what we need to do is basically cover this whole area in masking tape you're just gonna be building it up and building it up so let's get on that now [Applause] you can see that the whole thing is covered up with masking tape now what we're going to do next is actually mark out our QR code onto this now this is going to be a little bit tricky but you're just going to be copying from the QR code on your screen or on a piece of paper if you've got it marked out so let's get on that what you can see I've got now is this whole chart and it's all mapped out with the X's X's other boxes which needs to be cut out so what I'm going to do is just go through this whole whole grid now and cut out these boxes all right you can see that that actually looks like a QR code now what I'm going to try and do is actually scan this right now and if it works then I'll go and paint it somewhere and if it doesn't I'll try to figure out what's wrong with it I'm happy to say that there were no errors in it now what I'm going to have to do is reinforce it a little bit just by going down here putting in some horizontal tape just to make it a bit stronger and now I'm going to quickly unpeel it at the corners and fold the corners over so that the sharp bits don't catch on my skin or cut me and there you go that's it it's my completed QR stencil now the only thing that we've got left to do now is go outside and try and find a place where we can spray this well I've chosen this board which is on the stair one of my building steps [Applause]
