good afternoon chef and well my bedroom and this afternoon I'm going to harvest and cook some of this Queensland arrowroot it's also known as canna Wilma cause of the canna Lily no it has a beautiful red flower yeah no let's when he planted this last October and I got amazing how quickly it grew how much we've already taken four big chunks out of it we had some 40 last night so I'm going to cut some more there you can see here these please round so I guess it's a rhizome very similar to ginger and I'm just going to cut this off and just show you what you get and we had it last night for the first time and they're quite nice and crispy chicken yeah very edible that is one chunk cut this one there's not a chunk here I want to add that this is the wettest part of our garden and we had a lot of rain earlier this year and this was saturated here and it really went well in the in the really hot in the really wet weather also apparently it does really well in dry weather the tolerate shade yeah this is a very shaded spot here we've got this bottlebrush tree but the bananas and the other thing it seems to be tolerating is a lot of competition with other routes for the nutrition and it doesn't need any sprays or m9 know quite a bit more is another one here yeah a little bit in the pool uh yeah him there's a big chunk here is instead of a double bit here all right man see that pretty good value I reckon first anyway we'll go inside and they're cooking them we'll cook it up but oh so this is what we got out of this this pile of no one that do is peel them and then get ready to cook them oxidizes very quickly this stuff so what it does Brown yes I'm at what magician my saucepan is water standing by ready to put it in your suit as well cut it up so last night all we did was we boil them up so this time we've got it brought boil them and pan fry them see what happens therefore that means snack at the end the middle really even beautiful and then kind of again that's sort of like an apple isn't it that it is sure yeah please step up yeah oh yes most small thing like that not too thick and it straight into the water mojito right so what I've got here is that it's been boiling for about 20 minutes so I'm just going to rinse the water out and I've got turn it off I've got this frying pan on I'm just got tender heat on I've got about 2 tablespoons of olive oil that's what it looks like when it's boiled so you can zoom in on that now and take well that's might have that look at that one so you can see it doesn't break up like potato don't know staying physically texels different texture but so you can see here what's the brand how beautifully took took maybe a little bit longer than potatoes to browner the terms and looking beautiful nice and crisp we take it to me out shortly yeah is that looking really good yeah stand up beautifully yeah certainly have urban mayor herb seesaw for me right there it's cooled down a little bit so I'm just going to try them it's on my sweet chili sauce let's see what's what very similar to potato is not it a little bit dry I'm not as fluffy inside is it nice appetizer all right that's exactly right they're very very nice so you can have you can of Lily and eat it as well because catch you later boy
