Please explain how to clean metal detecting finds - silver quarter electrolysis

all right I'm gonna take my silver quarter I cleaned it already with some baking soda and I did this little cleaning experiment here with aluminum foil and baking soda and salt and then also used vinegar and it cleaned up pretty good so you can see but I'm gonna try the electrolysis method and see if I can get the rest of this off and get it to really shine so what I did is I hooked up an old phone charger to some alligator clips and I've got tablespoon of salt some tap water and some lemon drops and this will help the conductivity of the electricity in the water and so let's give it a shot here just look pretty good so one of these is positive one is negative I'm going to figure out which one it is we're already plugged in so I do is take one into the coin one and two and point it up here one into the spoon see if this works the spoon starts bubbling I have to switch the cables yep I got reversed so I'm plug your in here and I'll drop it back in alright should start to see the coin it's basically just gonna heat up and it should start and getting rid of all that I actually know I can skinny I'm making video repaired eek so I'm gonna pause it and come back and take a look at it in a few minutes okay it seems to be working see it just fizzle my crazy and there's already some residue that's falling off of it this has only been a less than a minute it's really cooking that coin you see it just falling right off it's working great see if I can move it around and yeah check that out yep dirt and tarnish that's just built up over the years again this is a 1948 quarter ninety percent silver so once this turn just comes off of here see how cloudy the water is getting already from the dirt so once that tarnish comes off we'll clean it some water and I should look pretty nice Livie it's been about three minutes you see how dark the water is it's totally almost black but it's working great it's taking all that dirt right off the quarter so do it for a couple more minutes and clean it with water and soon it looks like answer continuing the cleaning process I don't doubt that first glass and I've started a new glass and it's yellowish in color but still cleaning that soda got a ways to go and I'll yeah you're in just a few minutes alright I think as far as good as it's gonna get there's a little more buildup I came off of it well I doesn't seem to be making much progress at this point anymore sir I'm gonna take it off probably scrub up one more time with some baking soda and water real lightly and uh see what the end result is so there's the finished result I just scrubbed both sides with the toothbrush and some baking soda rinsed it off and looks way better than it did before even after the first bath with just this tin foil solution woman of oil solution um the electrolysis worked great I mean it really is bringing out the color of that silver I got most of it off so i'm very pleased i'm gonna use that method a lot more so as long as i can find some of these coins so thanks for watching and glad you got to see my first silver coin i found it's taken me five years to get a silver coin but it's worth it so thanks a lot you
