Please explain how to make a fabric coaster

today I'm going to show you how to make a really cool little fabric coaster and it looks really neat with contrasting fabrics here so I'm today I'm using the moon dancers collection by Diane knot and I thought it would look really cool with this solid black fabric too so all you need to do is cut out six five-inch squares of fabric and then you want to take four of the five inch squares and press them in half and then you're ready to go you take your first square wrong side up put your batting on top and then this top piece on top of there and then you just start layering your five inch squares that are pressed in half with the raw edges facing out all the way around like this and we're doing a little checkerboard kind of look here and then the tricky part is the last square that you want to fold back the first square and place it on top and fold the first square over it like that so you have a little checkerboard and you want to pin everything in place all right as you can see I'm using a walking foot because that really nicely eases the fabric as I sew through all these layers since I do have batting in here so I'm just going to sew around all four sides and closing all the raw edges they're really quick and easy project for last-minute gifts and it uses up fabric scraps really nicely it's a really fun quick and easy project as you can see and then just back stitch it in all right then you just want to take out your pins you want to cut the bulk off of your corners here because you're going to turn this inside out you want to kind of smooth out the corners they go all the way out and voila you have your really cute little Halloween coaster you can make a bunch of these and all different Halloween fabrics and have a neat little accent for your hallow Halloween table
