all right so i wanted to try to find something to take my 5d and use um this line input but actually get two channels out of it because sometimes i'm going to want to mic somebody with a like a lob or something and use this boom as well and try to get like a little natural sound so you plug this in obviously you lose both your channels i'll show you going here to the live mode right now it's just using the it's not connected to anything so it's you know but then you plug it in and that mic takes up both channels as well well with my little setup it's just it goes eighth inch to rca and then back out to eighth inch and both of those are mono so you plug it in and then you plug i know it kind of looks weird because you're using a lot of one but you plug it in and you'll see you get one channel and you could plug in another channel for the lav and just to show you this works there's the other side um i don't know it only costs a couple bucks might not be a big deal but i think it's kind of cool to just have that as an option and be sure that if you do buy this from monoprice if you see this you're going to think oh this is just what i need so i just go from 8th inch to 8th inch problem is with this one is that both of these are mono to this so when you plug in one i can show you let's go back so when you plug this in it doesn't matter which one you go into it's still mono to both channels left and right so that's why you don't want it because you want to separate the left and the right to have two actual independent mics going into your camera i just thought you guys would maybe like to see that out there in the world so if you do like it or whatever i don't know bye
