hi DIY mommies today I'm gonna show you how to make a DIY fabric tassel banner to make this tassel banner we're gonna need some scraps and fabric some pom-pom trim and we'll need a roadie a rotary cutter and a cutting mat it's gonna be a lot easier with the rotary cutter and a cutting mat not scissors cause we're lay out our first piece of fabric fold it over so that it's about six inches when it's folded because we're gonna want to make 12 inches long tassels now I have a hard ruler I'm just gonna cut to the fabric off so it's 12 inches long or six inches folded over and then along the 12-inches side I'm gonna cut little tassel bits that were half an inch wide I thought this was a really nice the width for the tassels now I found that about six strips of half-inch fabric for her tassel was about the right thickness of tassel and then you're just going to want to cut as many as you'll need for your banner so in this case I wanted three of each color of tassel so I made 18 strips of each of my pattern pieces so when I cut my fabric pieces they were about 12 inches long by 9 inches wide to account for my 18 strips ever have an itch so continue cutting all your fabrics as many 1/2 inch strips I used a print couple coordinating polka dots and I also use this place fabric for a different texture I also decided to throw in some tassels that were made of pom-pom track I found I only needed two 12-inch long strands of pom-pom fabric to make a tassel that wasn't thick enough and literally I decided to break her kitty and so now we're going to tie the tassels onto a long piece of twine and gathering up six bunch a bunch of six in my hand I'm gonna fold it in half lay it over the twine with the fold on top I'm gonna hold that with my thumb gather the bottom ends flip them up and behind the twine and then I'm gonna pull them through the loop that I created so you're going to hold on to the loop with one hand and then you're going to do the flipping and time with the other hand then all you have to do is tighten up the knot on top pull on the twine and you've made a little tassel so continue along in the pattern that we wish with the different colors Adric to the different tassels and you might have to end up polling individual strands of tasseled through the knot just to make it tight enough and even and you can always pull on your twine a little bit after you tie the tassel to make sure that the twine is taut and tosses time out properly now I found using the regular cotton quilting fabric was pretty straightforward it will fray a little bit on the inches but that's kind of a shabby chic look that I think finally the tassel made out of the pom-pom trim this was the trickiest because it's a little tricky to pull all those little pom-poms through the loop that you create but you might have to just just pop them through one by one after you pull the ends through the loop on the top I think it's worth it because the pom-poms are really sheet and that's it you just continue on in this fashion until you've made a batter the link that you want you can hang out with washi tape with hooks that's a really cute idea for our party don't forget to subscribe to my channel and comment below with the DIYs that you'd like to see
