hey my name is matt hodson i thought i would make a video on how to burn incense so my favorite kind of incense holder burner thing is this style it's made out of wood obviously the top comes up it's got a hole in each side for the sticks it's got a hole in the bottom of each side for the cones it's got holes in the top for the smoke to come out of and there's a little hiding spot here to store incense and then the other kind is the classic this is just your classic one stick burner this style you can burn one on each side if you choose i usually just do one so i will demonstrate that my favorite incense is nog chompa or nag champa i say nog chompa this is your classic incense right here so what you do here is you take an incense stick and then you stick it in the hole on the side of your choice i usually use this side and then you just burn the end of it wait till it catches on fire and then i wait about 10 seconds and let it burn and then just blow it out and then i blow on it some more it just makes it catch a little better and i personally like to shut the top and just let it come out of the holes i love that smell that is my favorite smell in the whole world now the thing with shutting the top is i don't know if you can see it in this light but sometimes it leaves some of the oil or residue on the top which i don't care that's fine so that is the stick and then i got some cones here i can't remember if this is nog chompa i think it might be sandalwood sandalwood's like my second favorite incense smell but there's sandalwood in not chompa so i like nog champa the best um i just burned the tip of this it takes a little bit longer for it to catch because it's thicker and just let that burn for like 10 15 seconds this is a small cone you can get them like twice that size i just happen to grab some small cones i prefer the sticks myself not really mess with the cones a whole lot nothing wrong with the cones just personal preference okay blow that out am i blowing up some more just to get it going you can see it's going and then with the cones you want to make sure to burn it on something specifically for cones or a small piece of metal or something that you don't care about or you can just throw away because if you put on a plate or something it'll like burn into the plate so there's a specific hole for this one and there you go so that's a good amount of chompa smoke coming out of there i will demonstrate the other type the classic stick one stick holder okay so let's put it in the hole do the same thing like the end wait for it to catch on fire let it burn like 10 seconds i've always liked incense i've been earning burning burning incense since i was in my preteens basically burning since all the time in high school all right so there you go now what i do is um just break it so it sits closer to the bottom because that way oh that's too broken that way if uh you have like a breeze or something the the ashes won't get all over the place so see how it's sitting closer now that's just a little trick i like to do and yeah that's basically it um pretty simple there's other types of incense out there i just use the stick and sometimes the cones um i burn probably one stick every night at least i when i get home from work or whatever and i'm just ready to relax i like to go my bedroom got a little table next to a record player i like to put a zeppelin vinyl on or something and just chill and relax and take it easy i also the reason i thought about making a video this time because i'm about to make some indian food and i like to burn some incense when i make indian food because it makes it smell similar to an indian restaurant which smells really good um i think they usually burn not choppa knock chop is what you smell whenever you go when you wear that cells incense or um or indian restaurants places like that um i also like to burn them burn it when i'm expecting company i'll burn it before they get here because the smoke messes with people sometimes so i i burn it before they get here so they can just smell it because the smell lasts like up to an hour after it's done you can get incense flea markets are a good place to get incense there's specific places that sell that kind of stuff there's a place in my local mall called nirvana they they sell it so that is basically it not much to it yeah i'm gonna go put this on the table in my room and just relax before i start making my indian food so thanks for watching i will see you next time
