hi I'm Paul Wilson the tile doctor and I'm here to demonstrate how easy it is to use stain master grout it doesn't matter if you're a seasoned professional like me or weekend warrior these products are easy to use and they have great results it is very important to allow the grout to come to room temperature for a day before you begin the mixing process too hot will not allow adequate working time and too cold makes the grout hard to spread and work with we recommend applying at temperatures between 65 and 75 degrees but never apply in the ranges below 55 or above 85 degrees the workability becomes difficult the stain master grout has two different solutions to choose from Stainmaster stain proof grout in classic colors or stain master crystal glass grout there are also three different optional effects you can mix into the grouts to provide additional design elements these are called the shimmer effects now it's time to mix the grout locate the tab on the side push it in pull the top off and this exposes all the contents so you have the stain master instruction booklet you have the scrub pad which is vital to the installation of the grout the Part B catalyst which is imperative to have and then you pull out the separator which is kind of like a frisbee after I've cut the corner off the bag it's ready to pour the contents into the grouting mixture and get every last drop all grout requires slow mixing so you don't entrap air into the mixture a slow-speed drill with an ice rod style mixer like this is the best after consistent lump-free mix is achieved always take the margin trowel and make sure all grout was removed from the edges and mix thoroughly into the rest of the mixture a peanut butter consistency is just right if you're adding a shimmer finish this is the time to do it the best way to put in the shimmer is to make kind of a pocket with the trowel as you do fold in the shimmer right there that way it keeps it from coming out and turning into dust in the air mix slowly folding it in then you can return back with your power mixer by the way look at that as a reminder be sure to carefully scrape the sides on the bottom of the little bucket so that all of the shimmer is mixed in carefully for the 5.5 pound payload for the larger 11 pound you're gonna need two a key point to consider is open time you will have a full hour under normal room temperature conditions to mix and spread the grout along with the cleaning process mix only enough grout that can be applied and cleaned in one hour simple and easy with Stainmaster tile products and remember be sure to visit your local Lowe's Home Improvement Center to purchase Stainmaster grout
