in this video I am going to share with you how I created a recipe organized binder hi I'm Jen with home by Jen and I share simple cleaning organizing and DIY hacks for the home so if you're anything like me and you collect recipes and you love to cook and bake and you have recipes here there and everywhere I needed something that organized the recipes it took me forever to find the recipe that I was looking for or it was lost and couldn't find it and then I didn't know where I've gotten it to begin with and then about a year after my mom passed away I was really craving her homemade bread recipe and so I went over and I went through a bunch of her recipes and wrote them all down and I have little papers here they're everywhere let me tell you it's organized it's an unorganized mess that's what it is so it was time for me to create a more organized system for my recipes and that's where this binder came from the before I even began to share how I went through this I do have a free organized recipe binder printable that you can download and put out so you can organize your recipes starting today so the great thing is if you don't have these items on hand you can just head over to your local office supply store and they have everything it's really inexpensive and it's very simple to put together so what you'll need is a 1/2 inch binder then you'll need page size sheet protectors magnetic photo pages a set of tab dividers binder pockets that should be included in the binder and then of course the free recipe binder printable that I have that you can download and print out so the first thing you'll want to do is categorize all of your recipes a few examples of categories that you can use are appetizers main dish side dish desserts you could even go more broad like breakfast lunch dinner you go more specific and use just ingredients for example you could do poultry soups things like that so as soon as you have your recipes categorized the next thing you'll want to do is add the recipes to the protector sheets in order to save space it's a good idea to add two recipes per protector so you have one facing forward and another facing backwards so when you turn the page you have a recipe on the front in the back once you've done that you'll want to put them in the binder according to your category system in the free printable I have seven different categories plus a cover sheet for you to use you can get more specific by using tab dividers and creating your own category by just using a few common office supplies you can create a well-organized recipe binder that you can use at home and you can give as gifts when I thank you so much for watching and I will see you in another video
