Good afternoon and welcome to Cosplay Factory My name is JackLeBlanck And today I'm here to teach you how to make our own foam mace This way when we are finished we can do things like these And now, without further delay, let's go through the list of materials and let's get started! For this tutorial we will need White glue, contact cement, and some paintbrushes Lighter and broomstick Paper, pen and rule Foam and cutter Polystyrene ball Let's get started! The first thing we will have to do is draw our templates For it we will draw in a folio a rectangle of 11 by 4.5 centimeters Once we have drawn it we will mark a point to 2 centimeters of height in the left side of the inferior line and soon we will mark another point to 3 centimeters of left side in the line superior Finally we will join these points together with curved lines, the first will be a curve inwards and the second outwards Now we will cut everything with the precision cutter and we will proceed to draw the following template For this second template we will have to draw a triangle of 8 centimeters of base and 4 centimeters of height Then we will cut it and we will have ready our two templates For our next step we will need a 50 cm by 14 inch mat with a thickness of half a centimeter We have to apply glue to one of its faces, in our case we have chosen the striped face to apply the glue For the contact cement to make its effect and once it is dry we will join it For this we will have to fold in half the strip of foam our purpose is to create a surface much more resistant to be able to make our pieces Press strongly with the fingers so that everything is well stuck. Once it is attached, we will mark the template on the mat Remember you can help with a few pushpins or pins to hold your template the mat We will have to make 4 pieces of each of the two templates In total there must be 8 pieces, once they are all drawn cut with the precision cutter To remove the small flaws and defects that appear on the mat after having cut it will apply with the help of the burner small bursts of heat, this way we will eliminate all those imperfections Now that we have our 8 pieces cut we can move on to the next step To realize the base of the head of the mass we will need another piece of mat of 10.5 by 11 centimeters Glue is on the two sides of 11 centimeters We will let the glue effect and once it is dry we will join it For it we will have to go one side with the other rolling it like a tube This piece has to fit perfectly in the tube that we will use as axis of our mace Now that we have it ready the next thing we will have to do will be to score in this four points The marks that we make are simply guide marks, do not have to be perfect, in these four points will be placed the large pieces that we cut before, forming a cross and in the middle of these will be placed the triangles Now we will glue the foam tube And while it is dry, we will glue the long side of each of the pieces Including triangles, we will let them dry and once dry, we will join them With great care we will start joining the big pieces in the four points that we have marked Once they are all glued together forming a cross, we will glue the triangular pieces, press strongly so that everything is well glued When everything is ready, you will have finished the head of your mace Our next step is to make the shaft bezels, for this we will need different pieces of foam of 10.5x2 centimeters What we will do next is to glue the short sides of the strips and once they are dry, we will join them forming tubes or circles Once they are glued we can start with the assembly, first we must check that all the pieces fit in place We will apply glue on the top of our axis, with the help of some of the foam tubes, we will extend the glue. Then place the mace head in place The head is almost ready, just need to add a small ornament, in this case we have used a small styrofoam The only thing we have to do is place it on the top of the hub, first we press against the axis and in the notches or marks that are generated we add glue and we put it together Now we put the ornament of the base of the shaft, we use another ball of polystyrene a little bigger and we repeat the previous action, we press the ball against the axis so that a mark is created Then we will glue all over the lower part of our axis and introduce the lower bezels to spread the glue as we did before Do not worry if the shaft is stained, then we will clean it, if necessary use more glue so that everything is well glued While the glue is drying, take advantage and clean the remains on the shaft It is advisable to use a dry napkin to remove the larger debris and then use a wet napkin to clean what is missing Once clean, let it dry and you will already have your mace ready And so far the tutorial of today, I hope you liked it and help you for your next cosplays If you liked the video, give me a like If you are interested in what I do, subscribe!
