hi this is an york's from flower box bakery with an icing tip in this video i'm going to show you how to use a stencil genie to create beautifully airbrushed cookies it's a two piece frame with magnets that holds a stencil in place when airbrushing cookies the genie has a thick side and a thin side to work with any cookie thickness I like to use the quarter inch thick side because that's how thick I roll my cookies to get started you just open the frame and sandwich your stencil between the two magnetic pieces then you click it closed next place the stencil on top of your cookie the stencil should touch the cookie this will help prevent under spray the frame also holds the stencil in place so there is no blowing or shifting during airbrushing just make sure that base icing layer is dry then you're ready to go I like to hold the airbrush gun at a 90 degree angle and spray using a low-speed I always like to think low and slow work best I keep the gun about two to three inches off the surface of the cookie if I want to mask off an area I simply click two pieces of paper in with the stencil then I can airbrush only one section of the cookie to avoid any shifting or smudging of the stenciled area I really just like to rock the stencil genie to the side and lift so look at it from this angle using the edge of the genie I just rock it to the side and lift straight up no smudging to clean the stencil genie I use a damp paper towel or rag don't soak the genie in water or put it through the dishwasher that could damage the magnets or the plastic frame I hope you enjoyed learning how to use the stencil genie to create beautifully airbrushed cookies time after time for more tips tutorials and supplies check out flower box bakery com you
