Please explain how to: henna mix for long healthy hair | kinkyme4b4c

for this mixture I'll be using two packs of in the poor body art quality henna it's important to use body a quality henna because it's finally sifted enough so you don't get chunks of henna in your hair I'm mixing the henna with coconut milk here I show one can of coconut milk but I actually ended up adding another 150 milliliters I'm adding an egg this is absolutely optional for added moisture and conditioning I'll be mixing it in a ceramic mixing bowl I recommend a bowl at least twice the size of the amount of henna that you're using that'll make it much easier and less messy to mix this bowl was entirely too small for the amount of henna that I was using you definitely want to use gloves while mixing it and also applying it to your hair you don't want to end up with orange hands or nails I'd also recommend painting your nails that way your nails won't get stained if your nails do get stained there's no turning back you're just gonna have to wait until the color goes out and of course you're going to need something to mix it with I'm just using a plastic ladle here and to rinse the henna I will be using a cleansing conditioner once you have all of your ingredients you are ready to mix so my apologies I forgot to record the part where I was actually putting the henna in the bowl but I basically emptied both packs of henna into the mixing bowl and the bowl as you can see is way too small you definitely want to do a larger bowl at least twice the size of the amount of henna that you're putting in I'm slowly adding in the coconut milk you don't want to add too much at a time because you don't want to end up with the watery consistency the consistency you want to end up with is anywhere between mashed potatoes or like a light pudding keep in mind that the more runny the mixture the more messy it will be I like using coconut milk because it has a really fast dye release I got this idea from the minimalist Beauty I'm gonna link her blog down below you know you have dye release when the henna changes from that greenish color to a reddish brown color the dyeing henna is called Lawson it binds with the natural protein located in the hair shine and repairs and seals to hair cuticle for improved hair health once I've reached the desired consistency with the henna and the coconut milk I go ahead and add the egg okay now it's time for the fun part applying the henna Harry I'm applying it to dry dirty hair I haven't really seen that much of a difference whether you apply it to clean hair or dirty hair as long as you don't have too much buildup I recommend dry or damp hair because soaking wet hair will get a little bit too messy for the application plus you want to make sure that all the maximum benefits of the treatment are penetrating your hair so you don't want water to get in the way of that now this part can get pretty messy so if this is your first time I'd recommend covering the floor and all surfaces with towels newspaper or anything that will protect it from getting dirty now if you do make a mess don't worry you can usually clean it pretty easily with a little bit of water and for any stubborn stains you may want to use a little bit of bleach or vinegar now if you're lighter than a paper bag you may want to wear something to protect your skin because henna stain skin you can wear a t-shirt or long-sleeve shirt anything that will cover your arms and back now if you like me have a little bit of extra melanin you don't have to worry about that and you can skip this step when applying the head now be sure to coat every strand thoroughly you don't want to manipulate your hair too much either because that could lead to breakage this isn't the time to detangle your hair you just want to get your hair coated in the product when you're finished applying cover your hair with a plastic cap plastic bag or saran wrap to keep the head moist you want to leave it on from anywhere from two to four hours or longer and it works like a protein treatment the longer you leave it on the stronger the effects oh and as far as rinsing goes i recommend rinsing in the bathtub or in the sink this way you get a nice strong flow of water pressure to help rinse out the henna whatever you do don't rinse it out in the shower because it will get everywhere rinse out as much as you can until the water turns clear and then use a nice cleansing co-wash conditioner to help rinse out the rest if you are using Hannah for the conditioning properties I don't recommend shampooing on the day of your Hannah you can save the shampoo for your next wash day just be sure to keep on your gloves while styling your hair to avoid stained fingers and fingernails and that's it I love using henna as a conditioning and strengthening treatment it has literally saved my hair it has slightly loosen my curl pattern but I'm not worried about that it's not a permanent change people with fine hair tend to experience the loosening more than people with coarse hair if you have any more questions about henna just leave them in the comments below and I'll be sure to get to them and don't forget to thumbs up this video if you find it helpful share
