hey friends it's April Holly Smith and yes it's time that I finally redo my distilled vinegar and dawn solution how to make the best cleaning solution known to man at home it's dawn and vinegar this is what I use what I have right here is just a plain old members mark from Sam's Club I buy it in a two gallon box so there's two one gallon containers here and then I like to buy this also at Sam's this is a one gallon container of dawn and it has this awesome pump on the top which I really really enjoy so for doughnut vinegar it is just the best cleaner known to man I'm going to tell you I feel like I use it the most at my house I use it for everything I use it to clean my dishes I use it to clean my bathroom I use it to pretreat my clothing for the laundry especially if it's a greasy stain it just works great now usually what I use is this is a dollar seventy eight spray bottle from Home Depot and as you can see it has been well used well loved when you buy it it actually has measurements on it my measurements have worn off but I'm gonna tell you right now that it is so simple to make dawn and vinegar you don't even need the measurements I'm going to give you the technical details on this because there is a ratio to mix it so here it is this is how it goes what I have here I feel like everything I have is like super use this is a one cup measurement but you can you actually use any kind of measuring a vessel that you want half a cup quarter of a cup let's say that you wanted to try it out you could use a quarter of a cup as your measurement vessel and go from there as you can see I've changed my scene up a little bit what I did is I have my dawn and my vinegar out four of the product that we're going to use this is what the members mark looks like once I opened it yes I had used some of it so the recipe for Donna vinegar is super simple it is one to one ratio what does that mean it means whatever you make whether that whatever vessel that you're measuring with on for example here I have one cup it's going to be one cup of your vinegar to one cup of your dawn so I'd say one to one ratio so I'm just gonna simply put that in here yeah I made a little bit of a mess you could probably do this over the sink that's fine so then your second one I'm just gonna everywhere maybe you should do this over your sink huh okay so I have pretty much a cup of dawn here and that's it all you have to do is swish it around so I've made two cups of solution because one cup and one cup is two cups and it is absolutely 100% ready to go and use so some things I want to go ahead and address with you right off is oh I'm not going to go to Sam's and buy a full gallon of vinegar or I'm not going to go to Sam's and by this particular it says industrial don't worry that this is this is just dish detergent that comes in a large large container so if you are saying at the Dollar Tree and want to know how to do this on a budget right here you go I actually got these pick one at the Dollar Tree you can actually buy white distilled vinegar for a dollar in a container and you could buy dawn why do you recommend I do recommend buying the dawn because it has the best grease cutting ability so I feel like it does the best job I happen to like the blue because I just like the blue but you can use the pink it does work now if you say oh but vinegar smells so bad now so you're like vinegar stinks is this gonna make my home stink no it is it because actually the vinegar smell dissipates almost immediately but you can do a couple things to mitigate that now some people like to use two drops of essential oils and it would probably be in the entire container for that home deeper Home Depot sprayer that I have but you can also do something like this with gain which has like a great smell that you something that you really like you can use this instead if that is really bothersome to you but the only time I ever have a problem with it is in the bathroom when I spray a whole bunch of it at one time so just like I said you can use something like this or you can add an essential oil to it something that smells pretty good usually we don't have any problem with the dawn so very simple so again it's a one to one ratio so if you just want to try it take the dish stuff that you have here anything anything and mix it with an equal amount of vinegar and use it for yours and it just put it in whatever you put your your dish soap in like empty this mix it in another container and put it back in here now you're gonna have a whole bunch more because it's twice as much so maybe if you're halfway through just fill it that's the way once you get to the halfway point it's a great way to try it you can do it very very reasonably and really you don't hardly even have to measure because it is a one to one ratio which means equal parts an equal amount of vinegar to an equal amount of dawn or dish liquid that you're using so if you just empty your container halfway and then refill it the rest of the way with your vinegar and then shake it up that's gonna work that's it that's all there is to the recipe and I feel like once you know about this it's gonna get rid of all of the things your 409 your tile and tubs scrubber stuff it's just really effective unlike everything so here's something that I want to tell you about now right now this is mine has settled and these are this is bubbles but sometimes down here you will get like a line where it'll be blue and not so blue if that happens what you gonna do is this that's it and that remedies that solution sometimes the vinegar will separate a little bit from the the color portion of the dawn really that's no big deal so don't even worry if that happens you haven't ruined it you haven't done it wrong you have it you don't have to throw it out it's still gonna be super effective so that is really the quick and dirty way to make Donna vinegar the last cleaning solution you're gonna need in your house i buy the dawn in the gallon and it costs like eleven or twelve dollars at Sam's and then like I say I buy the dawn or the vinegar for four dollars for two gallons but you can try this out on the cheap by going to the Dollar Tree or just getting in your cabinet and using what you already have as both vinegar and dish soap wise so try it out and see how you like it I like I say I spray it on my dishes from the spray bottle because I feel like it meters that out really well it's super effective I use it in my bathroom I use it on my kitchen counters I clean my stove with it everything when I clean out my my refrigerator and something else because like I said before with the vinegar vinegar does have a stronger smell this does not have a particularly strong smell but the beautiful thing about vinegar is it's a deodorizer so whatever you clean with this it will naturally as in like no scary chemicals as a chemical that you are able to eat so it's not scary will deodorize it I clean my refrigerator with it and it's the best it really is so that's how you do it just remember half and half half vinegar half done that's all there is it's super simple people will
