hi it's Nancy today okay this is about a zip line then you know what a zip line is it's a cable that goes across and you hook something on to it and you slide far away okay I made one of these many years ago and for one reason or another we took it down and now the teenagers want to use it so let me show this to you okay so here's this this is aircraft cable it costs about 20 cents a foot I think anyway I think it cost me $100 for this wire so I don't know how long it is 200 feet or something and when you attach it you have to be careful how you attach it okay no these are they sell these in the store okay now you have this is gonna pinch against your wire so what we've done here our wire our wire comes to here okay we've made a loop on the wire and we've secured it with these hooks don't look very big will Abraham maybe we should use another one of these look how small they look bigger than those those are pretty small I do that yeah okay well that's um open this up and we'll put why does it be bigger though I mean it's not like these bolts are gonna break no but I don't know another right here well I'm gonna use a bigger one okay so the piece that you're tightening up like the end of it has to go down into that Valley in there okay just men don't go anywhere yet oh I see you did it good work okay it has to go into that little Valley there well you could um you could put it put grease on it you don't know if we have any grease do we I mean we have oil but that's not the same is that the only one I got did I get another one I think I've got another one right 176 pounds yeah okay so you want to tighten these up and what this will do is it pinched this wire the short wire and into the other one now you have to tighten this really tightly with your wrenches and things okay and then what we have here this is a come-along from here to here so what we did is we have a another wire which we've wrapped around the tree a couple times and the come-along is hooked to that and to the loop at the end of our wire when this thing starts is here it's taking off tiny little shards of the wire okay so this won't work it'll wear it down too fast okay well I don't know what we're gonna do for a better one you see this one you can't open it up so this one has to be put on we have to put that on before the wire is tightened what if you fill this up with grease because when you're put when your weight is on it it's not gonna roll to the sides much is it no sir I might might be but yeah it might turn a little bit yeah you're right so you can see it okay now the first run is always now I've got this other piece here it's clamped on here and this one is our backup so if anything happens with this wire you see you've got most of the most of the is on this part right there this is your weakest point or your most stressed that point and this point if anything happens to them your line will come down and it'll whip so we've got the secondary one on and you've you've checked those up at the top they're really tight okay this is what happens with a children's swing you see it had it better into its life this is always the hardest thing is figuring out the POI okay if we use it on a boat that other pulley did you open it up already this won't hold the weight what if you had two of these and they're each only good for 175 well they're only holding half of it then I took it back same thing friction against the wall okay so this one how will this one work yeah this one will work perfectly only it doesn't have the same force I think we could we could solve the problem with this one having that doesn't solve the problem with this with what what's the wire when it's when it's on an angle the wire scrapes against it mmm it's too big for the wire well no it just needs to have the please have them but if it were full of grease yeah but the grease isn't I mean the wires gonna read the piece off in no time at all because you could take off the wheel well no I mean the reason one scrape is because this one keeps it um it's narrow so this is a very heavy wire and in order to start cranking it up there in order to crank it the first thing we did was we hooked this extra one into that up there to tighten it and and we pulled it we tightened this by going around and around around the tree it there was enough friction on the tree that it allowed us to have it held there without having to hook it you know to tighten it down or anything okay so now you have to tighten this one up you've got both of the screwdrivers or the wrenches on the top wait a minute I have to tighten this one here I have to tighten this now lovely bark the reading lightning that this already oh you oh you tighten this this one here yeah but look what here it is
