hi I'm Todd Henderson today I want to show you how easy is to install the American tonneau hard trifold cover on this toilet tundra with the deck rail system let's go ahead and get started so if you have any concerns about buying online let me first tell you about our guarantee if you place your order over the phone with one of our experts or on chat we guarantee that what you get is gonna fit your truck so if you get something that's wrong we're gonna get it picked up and get you the right parts no extra cost to you so this is the supplemental clamp kit you're going to get for your deck rail system the way it works is you're gonna have a backing plate you're gonna have a claw those are gonna go together like so then you're gonna take a couple of flat washers similar top and then you've got your Allen bolt that's going to thread into that backing plate here you get those started but not all the way in so they can drop down like so and do that with all the brackets now we got our bracket assembly on the passenger side we're gonna do the exact same thing on the driver's side we're gonna take the plug pull it out we're just gonna put the clamp inside the front one we're gonna slide almost all the way up to the front and the rear one place right at the rear now you're gonna notice this clamp the claw hangs down towards the bottom of the bed and now we're gonna set the cover on top of the bed caps and we're gonna unclip the straps I want to fold it back to the tailgate next we're going to close the tailgate and we're in a center and make sure the cover is nice and straight on the bed of the truck next what we're going to do is open the tailgate you back into the bed of the truck fold the cover towards the cab we want to make sure we're nice and gentle so we don't shift this cover around all right next what we're going to do is we're going to pull the clamp down out of the steward position push it over to the side of the bed cap now you're gonna notice this claw bracket is gonna have to slide line up directly to that clamp once we have a clock the claw lined up toward the clamp is so we can move a clamp back out of the way and tighten the claw into position I just know what we're gonna do is we're gonna raise this hanger bracket the claw needs to be up as far as it can go without this resting on the ridge of the deck rail system once have some place we're gonna tighten it down using the supplied allen key next we can slide the clamp over to the hanger bracket set it in place and then turn the key bolt until it gets it nice and tight now we're going to fold the cover back to the tailgate now we're you go ahead and drop the clamp out of the stowed position and slide it over to the bed cap now again just like on the front where we want to move our hanger bracket to line up directly with the clamp once the hanging rack is in place just like on the front we're gonna line it up to the deck rail you know just where the the curved portion is below the bottom of the deck rail system and tighten it down using the provided allen wrench we're slide the clamp into place and once it's lined up towards you just touching the bottom of the bracket then we can tighten it down so to raise it up a little bit to touch the bracket we're gonna rotate it on the shaft repeat the same process on the opposite side all right so the first step in installing the tailgate seal is going to be to clean the bed of the truck nice and thoroughly right along the edge where the tailgate seal is going to install once that's done you can use the provided alcohol prep pad and pull that out and we're going to wipe down that surface to remove any kind of debris so we have a good surface to adhere to next we're going to take the tailgate seal now the orientation the tailgate seals very important what we're going to do is we're gonna make sure the tape side is on the paint and the bulb side is facing to the inside of the bed of the truck like so it's helpful to take a pair of scissors or a knife get behind the tape to get it loose you can pull the tape loose now what we're going to do is we're going to kind of compress that seal up into the corner starting with the top and to make sure the bulb goes where it needs to go we're gonna pull the adhesive as we're working the bulb into the right spot now on the tundra here we're going to come to a piece where we can't go through it so we're going to just cut the tailgate seal and then we're going to continue that tailgate seal below the strike now for the tundra on each side if you take just one more small piece of tailgate seal you put it on the actual tailgate itself right up at the top where it meets the tailgate cap and where it's flush to the front of the tailgate what that does when it closes it helps to close that gap at the very top well that concludes the installation if you have any questions call the experts we're here to help you out
