this is a video I guess you call it part two for making those planer boards that I had in the video there now a lot of people who use a planer boards I use the heavier duty like 30-inch ones what you can do for a mast and what should be done in your boat it's a lot of people run them up the side which is fine but for the maximum separation from your vote on your planer board the best thing for you to do is have some kind of beam and the higher up it is the further out your planer board will travel so what I did I went to the local junkyard I picked up the base of a chair underneath sawed it off grinded it down and got rid of the rust there and threw some rust protective coating on there bolted it underneath but getting back to the the mast what I did was excuse me for the shaky camera for a second if you bought these rings here and I took these Jay hooks the bottom here I haven't built the one for the other side yet but this is for the port side just wrap it up on here this would clip on here I'm sorry this would clip on to your planer board quick release and then clip the other end of your rope right on right on this hook here so I'll hook and once you get that I'll figure it out what I like to do stow it on there like this there you go how you build a mast very easy very cheap another thing you might want to do is depending how strong your hull is just take one of them rubber bungee cords because your mouse is going to want to pull back on you you hooking them up I'll put on top there I just wrap it around on there and it's straight out to your planer board works like a charm all this stuff is for the dump except for the other rope ratures from the dollar store which cost me next to nothing so there you go the best way to run planer boards with a mast
