this is something that I've been doing now for a few years I'm having a lot of success with it basically I'm getting the grass seed to germinate before I plant it so I take a wheelbarrow full of sawdust this is sawdust from the bottom of the table so it's very fine sawdust if you don't have sawdust you could also use mulch or maybe peat moss the whole idea is just to keep the seed wet so it will germinate I let this go for seven days but I think I let it go about two days too long I should have done it just for about five days but anyway I think it'll still work so now what I'm going to do is mix three shovels follow the sawdust grass seed mixture in with about a half a wheel bough full of topsoil and then I'll give it a good mixing and then spread it over the bald spots okay well it's been exactly a week since I spread the seed and you can see it's already coming in real nice the key thing here is you've got to have the time to water if you're not going to be able to water it you may as well not even do it and this works great for small areas like this obviously you would want to try to seed your whole lawn this way but for small patches it works great I've been doing it for years I hope you enjoyed the video thanks for tuning in and I'll see you next time you
