Please explain how to make chicken cordon bleu casserole

hi i'm chef evelyn paul with kroger and today we're going a little retro we're making a chicken cordon bleu casserole my oven's heating to 400 degrees and i'm going to just prep my baking dish with a little bit of nonstick cooking spray just set this to the side and then i'm going to assemble my casserole i'm going to start with one cup of reduced fat sour cream one and a half cups of reduced sodium chicken broth one tablespoon of dijon mustard then i'm just going to add a quarter teaspoon of ground black pepper and then i'm going to whisk all of this together so it's well blended and really smooth so you have that nice creamy mix i'm going to continue to build my casserole by adding the grilled chicken breast i have 20 ounces of fully cooked grilled chicken breast diced six ounces of cubed swiss cheese one and a half cups of uncooked instant white rice half a cup of diced ham and finally i'm going to add some frozen green peas you don't have to but i try to put vegetables in my meals as much as i can and it's a good way to get the kids to eat more vegetables so i'm going to add one cup of frozen green peas to my mixture and then i'm going to mix this all in gently stir everything together so when you layer this into your casserole dish you have chicken you have cheese you have ham you have peas all of these great flavors just blend together now that my casserole is evenly mixed i'm going to assemble my casserole in my prepared baking pan i'm using individual baking pans but you can use a larger one i just like to give everyone the individual casserole i'm going to plate this into my baking dish in a nice even layer now that my casserole is assembled in my baking dish i'm going to make my topping i have one cup of crushed corn flakes in this bowl i'm going to add to that half a cup of grated parmesan cheese and then to that i'm going to add two tablespoons of melted butter just going to mix this all in sprinkle a nice even layer on the top of the casserole so it's nicely coated nice even layer so you have that tanginess of the cheese the crunch of the corn flakes so my casseroles are ready to go i'm gonna bake them in a 400 degree oven for 25 minutes till they're nice and bubbling with a nice golden brown crust so now that my chicken quarter blue casserole has cooked for 25 minutes you can see it's got that beautiful golden crust on top so now it's time to dig in and enjoy for thousands of how-to and advice videos on any topic visit monkeysea.com
