Please explain how to propagate

as the growing season is coming near the end back September October time it's time to take some cuttings to keep your osteo sperms going for next year I want to cut a chute about 4 inches long without a flower on it and you want to strip off all the lower leaves just leaving two or three at the top dip the cutting into some rooting hormone powder and then just insert it around the edge of a small pot I use multi-purpose compost and then store it somewhere cool for the winter in a greenhouse or cold frame don't let it dry out too much and don't let it waterlog here they are a couple of months later still growing well and here by the end of March I had let them dry out a bit so some had died and some had got mold on them fungus but most of them have survived this is just to show that even the ones that died had roots so they get the cuttings had taken I just hadn't looked after them well enough and then at this stage March April you want to be if you've put more than one cutting pair pot it's time to separate them out to grow them on a bit in their own pots it's got to be careful not to snap the root so you can be quite it looks like I'm being quite rough but I'm not actually breaking any roots there they do come apart with a bit of wiggling so just put each one in its own pot married to the same depth that it was in the in its first pot it's shared pot and just tap the pot there like that to get any air air out of the compost and give it a good watering and there they are just potted up put in a cold frame and then in May there they are a few more of those have died because I haven't looked after them properly but that's ready to plant out pretty much soon as the last frost gone
